Match Thread | Chelsea vs Man City (25/09/21)

I'd day this is where Gundo earned his corn in the final third last season, taking out chances, but don't think he could do what Foden is giving us today, in terms of energy in the press. Dilemma.

Agreed. He has recycled the ball every time. It's a while since we played so well and games at this level will always be decided by the odd chance or bad decision. My concern is that Chelsea can win the league playing like that, as most teams don't have our options. James going off for...

Perfect. Perfect tactics, perfect press, perfect attitide. Keep it up and we will get a chance later in the game. We would have won Champs Final playing like this. Would maybe like Jack to get back in a bit quicker.

    Chelsea (A) - Sat 25 Sep 12:30 | Pre-Match Thread

If Sterling doesn't start, I think he must be on the way out. Were interesting comments yesterday from Pep about his regrets over Champs League final. Saying his only regret was bringing players in to start who hadn't been playing. Raheem was certainly one of them, can't recall too many...

    Erling Haaland

If I'm Mino, I'm telling him to join City for a mountain of cash and sign up for six years. After four years make it clear he won't be signing an extension, so he's happy to sit tight in year five unless a club comes forward he likes and City still get some decent wedge back. Otherwise, he is...

    The Christmas thread.

Can't wait. Still have a jar of cranberry jelly in the cupboard we didn't use last year because had Covid on Xmas Day. Fingers crossed it gets used this year.

    The FTSE

My private pension has jumped £26k in 12 months, despite essentially paying in the minimum amount during Covid. I didn't want to freeze it, but I'm in for roughly £240 in contributions during that period. It's not buying in to Amazon in 1998, but it's the biggest return I've ever had for...

It was actually handball by Lakey when the ball hit him in midfield and he raced in to the box for Oldfield to score the fourth. The ref was on the wrong side of it but I was dead level with it and we got lucky there. I was still screaming for the final whistle at 5-1.

My dad wouldn't let me go to the Charlton game, said I was too young (10!) What he really meant was he wanted to go on the piss with his mates that day. I still remember him coming home the day Luton sent us down and not really understanding the magnitude of that result at the time.

Ha. I still remember the opening day how United fans fawned over Knighton coming on to the pitch in full kit wanker mode, doing keepy-uppies. I'd pay good money to see the Glazers do likewise now!

Terry Hurlock, I went to see him make his debut for Rangers! I remember the Millwall win because they had been giving it the big one all week. That summer with Knighton they had spent £1.8m on Ince, £2.3m on Pallister, £4m on Webb, £1.5m on Wallace. Broke every transfer record going that...

Yep, you're indeed correct, I remember it now, coming on the back of so many goals. And I was one of the 17,000 at that Huddersfield game! People might not remember the week before the 5-1, United had actually walloped Millwall by five goals at home!!
