    Bbc receptions since retune

Sorry MUX = multiplex. It's just shorthand to describe a group of channels broadcasting on the same channel frequency from a transmitter. Have a look at this list and see if you can tell which MUX(es) is missing ... https://www.terrestrialtv.uk/dtt.php?pg=live&tsidreg=Manchester&by=lcn&mux=

    Projector Streaming

I believe, but could be incorrect, that the software that Sky Go use won't work with Google Chrome and therefore Chromecast, but you can get round it by 'casting desktop' from Chrome to Chromecast. I don't think hdmi is blocked but can't remember for certain since it's a while since I had Sky Go.

Some people still have the old style paper licence. If they haven't moved house or had any driving endorsements in the last 20 years (i think it is now) then they haven't needed to apply for the plastic ones which do expire after 10 years. There's a few million in this situation apparently.

    Bbc receptions since retune

Further to above, I have found this site which seems to have updated the latest frequencies ... https://www.aerialsandtv.com/knowledge/transmitters/winter-hill-transmitter Ch29, 31, 32, 34, 35, 37 are the main frequencies. the range 49 to 60 is being cleared for 5G services so I think the MUX...

    Bbc receptions since retune

I believe these are the last set of changes planned. There's certainly no duplicated channels now when re-tuning, and the total channel count should be around 177 (was over 200 before this week). This change was due in March but got postponed because of Covid. Different TVs and set top boxes...

    Projector Streaming

That one was just the first one that came up, so can't warrant its quality, and there are a few cheaper ones on Amazon (as low as £90 WITH a screen thrown in) - but I'm no expert. Sound is important, as is the ability to mount on a ceiling for me. Richer Sounds have some that start around £400...

    Projector Streaming

Just thinking of doing something similar. Of what I have seen so far you can buy projectors that you can cast to directly. You would be able to use Sky Go* for your needs if you are subscribing to them. EDIT: *via your mobile/laptop. I'm guessing a chromecast dongle would be fine if it isn't...

Any one else’s computer down due to the storms

Winter Hill had a transmitter frequency overhaul last night (postponed from March due to C19). You'll need to re-tune today to get a lot of channels back and pray you don't need a new aerial.

    World Snooker Championship

Is it a prerequisite to have bad hair if you're called Trump? He should get some Brylcreem and do a Ray Reardon. Selby is the best player at the moment from what I've seen. If Wilson beats Trump I can't see past one of Selby/Williams/O'Sullivan being the champion. Would love a surprise though...

Why can't yanks use a knife and fork?

It's supposedly tines up for the US and tines down for everyone else. I think I interchange, definitely when eating chopped fruit I am using my right hand and stabbing the pieces then mostly going tines up. I will bet that when I'm in a posh-ish restaurant I inadvertently go to the etiquette and...

    Sun glasses advice

I think a lot get confused with the Polaroid sunglasses/glasses brand and the type 'polarised', seems to have become accepted - even if incorrect - over here, a bit like Hoover and Tannoy brand names for their products. Maybe got worse ever since Reactolite became...

I think it's good every now and then to splurge, and staying unsalted is good, but I did get a higher cholesterol number at one time so had to cut my intake.

The lightning strikes at the moment to the west of Manchester are amazing. Been going about 20 mins non stop. Someone's getting rain soon.
