    Prison Break

To be fair I got warned off after season 2 but I really like 3 and 4. Total make believe but still enjoyable.

    Depeche Mode

I've been listening to "101" in the car lately on repeat. They were absolutely huge in America in the 90's. The new album in my opinion is up there with Violator.

    Venice!

Just got back yesterday from Venice. Was sceptical but truly amazing place. Don't worry about the cost of food etc. just find a back street pizzeria that will do the job for a manageable cost. Enjoy it really is a beautiful city.

    Shall wonders never cease?!

Ronnie Irani is one of the most obnoxious, plastic, cretinous, glory hunting, clueless pricks I have ever had the misfortune to have pollute my ears. How he gets paid to be on the radio is robbing a living. To be fair to talksport I take it with a pinch of salt. Durham and Brazil are amusing on...

    'Golden Ticket' - Dickovs lads

Coming from New Moston I went to school in Oldham in the early 90's when Oldham were reasonably decent. Always kept an eye on them and get to some games when I can. Rick Holden anyone! Good deal for £15 worth giving them a shout.

    Dutch & Portuguese

Had a few beers in Sam's chop house before the game and had good banter with some Dutch fans. Quite a few Portugese knocking about but they were all in good spirits. Nice atmosphere in town really. All here to enjoy the football from what I could gather.

City Square pre match 4:15 pm – Candour

Yeah not bad. Did well considering time they were on and the weather. First song they played sounded really good. Fair play.

    Albums you've 're-discovered'

"The Queen is Dead" by The Smiths. Discovered a version of "I know it's over" by Jeff Buckley and put this back on to listen to the original. Absolutely brilliant album. Also agree with Second Coming - since I got Roses tickets had this on a lot.

Palace v Cardiff (2nd leg discussion from pg3)

Re: Palace v Cardiff Zaha was excellent against the rags but on this showing bang average. Looks like he is trying too hard. Apparently Redknapp and Pardew are in the stands to watch him.

    Gary Neville on Sky.

Neville very humble and honest tonight. Fair play to him. Doing his new job professionally.

I'm not really here - Paul Lake

Great book. Couldn't put it down, such memories came flooding back. Would've captained England I've no doubt. May I also suggest "A Life Too Short" about the German goalkeeper Robert Enke. Deeply moving read.

    Reece Wabara

I agree with last poster. Tripper is having a fantastic loan spell at Burnley. The fans there love him and I would have him back before Wabara.

    Kaka on the move?

    Hahaha this is funny!

    Speed awareness course

The most mind numbing, patronising, dull, waste of 4 hours I've ever suffered. Then again I really shouldn't speed so fair play it's better than the points. You still have to pay the fine though, as a "course fee". Got caught twice in a week at that rascal camera at the Kearsley/Clifton exit for...

    The Elephant man (Bruce)

Re: The Elephant man Elephant man has never done a decent job at any of the clubs he's been at. Wigan was about his level and he had good backing from his chairman before jumping ship. Ungrateful rag sycophant cretin.

    Gary Speed has died

I heard this news as I started to drive to Liverpool for the match yesterday. It genuinely devastated me to the point I had to pull over and shed a tear. I have no connection to Gary Speed so I can't explain my grief other than my love for football and what the game means. Growing up in the 90's...

    School teachers

No problem. My degree is in Information Technology (with QTS) and yes I am an IT teacher. I do not intend to get on a soapbox and proclaim we are more worthy than others. I simply gave an account of MY own personal reasons for striking. Wether this be morally and socially acceptable compared to...

    School teachers

At risk of repeating anybody and apologies if I do, I've been a teacher for 12 years. I studied hard for the qualification, gained my degree and got a job on leaving. When I signed my contract it was for a statuatory salary and pension plan. I knew that if I stayed in the job, worked hard...
