    Reading Challenge 2024

I'm easy either way. The group reads force me to pick up something different to my normal choice, which is good. But my reading is slow at the moment due to a number of circumstances.

Ref Watch City Games - 2023/24

Haha. Their plan to get us into another period of extra time completely backfired, thankfully. Serves 'em right, the cheats.

    Reading Challenge 2024

    1. Unruly - David Mitchell - 9/10 2. A Man Called Ove - Fredrik Blackman - 7/10 3. The Book of Doors - Gareth Brown - 8/10 I chose this book purely because I liked the look of the cover, when browsing recently in Waterstones. That said, I downloaded the Kindle version, and read three quarters...

    Pep's contract situation

Exactly. We agree it should be IS.

    Running thread

Haha. Never got round to running one back in the 80s, despite best intentions. I only really started running again about six years ago, and the guys on here convinced me to try for a marathon after completing the Bluemoon Virtual Half Marathon during the first lockdown. I'm so glad I put the...

    Pep's contract situation

Manchester City is a single legal entity, so IS is correct, ARE would be incorrect.

It is when the celebration lasts two minutes and involves the whole team entourage!

Go for it mate. I trained for Manchester when in my 20s, and ended up running it aged 60. I'm glad I did, as injuries since then would have prevented me from completing one. I'm going on 63 now.

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

The balance is in favour of limitation of six years from the date charges were brought. Limitation might not apply if the PL successfully prove fraud or concealment, but this isn't thought to be likely.

    Referees/Officials Thread - 2023/24

"An indirect free kick is awarded if a goalkeeper, inside their penalty area, commits any of the following offences: controls the ball with the hand/arm for more than six seconds before releasing it" The law is above. Anything else is just interpretation, and might vary between referees...

Delaying the restart of play is a cautiounable offence.

    Referees/Officials Thread - 2023/24

Yeah, and took two minutes to celebrate with some sort of entourage. He should have let Barcelona kick off with them all missing. Disgraceful from PSG. I can't stand them and their antics.

What the Balamory is going on in Block 307?

Time to get a Scottish team into CFG?

Premier League Games 13/14/15 April '24

Perfect summary. It wasn't a holding offence, so the foul is where first contact was made. The fact that they tumble into the penalty area means nothing really. Correct decision. Maybe should have been a caution.

What the Balamory is going on in Block 307?

I go to Balamory every year on holiday, and I'm off to Tenerife on Tuesday, but I don't know about ticket deals.

    Running thread

Parkrun 88 completed at Stretford in 31:53. Nice run out. Calf strain has gone, I'm just left with a slight left hip issue, but it's hardly noticeable. I'm looking forward to some warm weather training next week in Tenerife. Should be good.
