    Friendship groups

Does anyone know which City players hang out together as friends? (Or what friendship groups exist, if this term actually means anything outside of primary school). I imagine Foden, Grealish, Haaland, Stones, Walker are pretty tight together. Do some of them hang out with others of the same...

    Bluemoon Christmas Panto

We all enjoy a nice pantomime, or a good old nativity play. So who from BM would we have playing the leading roles? I'm considering who would best fit the characters of Ebeneezer Scrooge, or The Grinch as there are quite a few worthy contenders. Who would you include in your cast? @tolmie's...

    Hot tubs

Has anyone any idea of the running costs of a hot tub? I am looking at buying a holiday lodge, and one of the lodges I am considering has a 7 person hot tub. I'm thinking it might be a novelty for a while, but might prove a costly addition and an unnecessary extra £10k compared to similar lodges...

    United top of the league

I came across this earlier: https://www.theifo.co.uk/ - The Independent Football Ombudsman. They arbitrate on complaints by fans about football clubs, The FA etc. Guess who is top of the league since they started? Team Complaints Manchester United 29 FA 28 Tottenham Hotspur 9 Liverpool 8...

    Clear and obvious

This appears on the PL website from July 2019. "VAR can be used to overturn a subjective decision if a "clear and obvious error" has been identified. The referee will explain their decision to the VAR, and what they have seen. If the evidence provided by the broadcast footage does not accord...

    New roof

My mum has had a quote of £3900 cash for a roof replacement for a standard semi detached house in South Manchester. Can anyone advise if this sounds reasonable please? The firm recently replaced the roof on other attached house and did a good job - quick and quiet, so workmanship is not in question.

Best player you have played with (or against)

The highest achieving player I played against was Sammy McIlroy. Well after he retired, he used to play with a group of guys in Lymm, and my own team would challenge them to a game every so often. He was still the outstanding player when in his fifties, against all us casual footballers. In...

    Vandalism

Talking of which, last night, some scrote burnt down our local bookswap, which my wife built two years ago, and has lovingly cared for ever since. Such a shame.

Does anyone know of anywhere I can download old Match of the Day programmes or other highlight packages? Someone on here once shared their Dropbox folder, but I can’t find that link.

City vs United: Manchester's Cold War (23/02 1930hrs BBC Radio 5)

"Once it was only about trophies and derby day wins. Now the battle to be the biggest club in Manchester has gone outside the stadium and into the streets and parks beyond. A fight not only for the best footballing talent in town but for the heart and minds of the city's kids too. We hear from...

    Tapatalk @##<*$|¥

What have they done to Tapatalk on iPhone and iPad? It used to be great. Now, I get notifications, alerts, messages, flags, icons galore. It's doing my head in. I've tried to turn them all off, but they still appear. Does anyone know the secret settings to turn everything off? Also, the adverts...

    Footgolf

Has anyone tried footgolf? Played on a golf course, and the objective is to kick a size 5 football into the football sized hole. There are quite a few courses in and around Manchester / Cheshire. I've not tried it myself, but I think I'll give it a go at some point...

    Christmas brain teasers

Stuck in the office, passing the hours until your boss says it's alright to go home? Try this. One snowy night, Sherlock Holmes was in his house sitting by a fire. All of a sudden a snowball came crashing through his window, breaking it. Holmes got up and looked out the window just in time to...

    Danny Jones, Keighley

It is being reported that Danny Jones suffered a cardiac arrest earlier today whilst playing for Keighley RL. They were playing London Skolars, apparently also at White Hart Lane. He was airlifted to hospital. I hope he's OK, but there have been some tweets reporting bad news.

    School closures because of snow

Why do some schools send children home when it snows? I can't think of one reason why this should happen. I can think of many why it shouldn't. 1. Parents have to finish work to collect their kids, or be at home with them. 2. Parents could be at work many miles away, can't get to school...
