Hooliganism and Violence Maine Road 80's/early 90's

Was definitely 2pm Sunday in the 70s, can remember last Jacks as the bell rang at 1.50. Seems archaic now

    Stockport County

They are selling out most home games this season, there was a bit of a clamour for tickets for yesterday, so it's definitely a misprint.

    Squeeze

Some of Rod Stewarts early songs had that quality, non moreso tham Maggie May imo, Leo Sayer's Moonlighting is another. The difference with Squeeze is near enough all their hits told a story, as I said earlier in the thread I only really appreciated their musicianship once I'd seen/heard them...

    Squeeze

So you weren't lumbered with 'Mr I'll stand up from the first song and fuck everyone else behind me' being in your line of vision? The only one in the whole of the stalls who was on his feet near enough the whole gig. Fair enough I know people like a bop but there's reading the room and...

    Squeeze

I too went last night, agreed they were brilliant, having liked them since they first broke I realised last night that I'd never actually considered just how accomplished they are as musicians, it's always been about the lyrics for me but my eyes/ears were opened last night, they are a really...

    Speedway

He is, 2 full maximums in the final. I paid on the gate mate, it was a good crowd though. 1st leg was my 2nd of the season, never miss it on the box but need to drag myself along more often next season, there's no substitute for the noise and smell of being there.

    Speedway

Yes, I went to the Grand Final 2nd leg at Leicester last night, great to see them lift the trophy in front of a good few hundred Aces fans who'd made the trip. It's a complete anorak sport but I've always maintained an interest since my old man used to take me to Hyde Rd in the mid 60s/early 70s.

    Bratislava meet up

Same here, I swerved it as I'm off to Benidorm on Friday and thought I should curb it, now wishing I'd looked at flights from there to Spain on Thursday and done the full bifta.

    Holidays

Had a week there about 6 years ago, stayed at Drago Park Resort, was ok although it's a fairly quiet area. I'm sure I will have found somewhere to watch football but can't remember where. Safari Parks aren't my scene but we did visit the one that's quite near to Costa Calma, the giraffes were...

    Spurious Claim to Fame

I wondered for years why he made that reference, until relatively recently when a mate pointed out the positioning of the tail of the lion. Have another gander at the photo.

    Spurious Claim to Fame

No idea, it was at Wembley 1980, West Ham v Arsenal, I'm wearing a lion suit on Wembley way, the author described me as a "phallic symbol", think it means dickhead in posh speak. Funnily enough I was also "guesting" on the WIA episode, no other blues were there.
