all this abuse that stevie ireland is currently receiving has set me thinking about players who became scapegoats(?) or targets for what the media always call the "boo-boys" the first one i can remember was ian bowyer (late 60's) can anybody come up with any others who left because of abuse...

sorry to have to be the person that started this particular thread, but, he's increasingly looking just this. don't get me wrong, I'd love to be wrong but he's looking increasingly like the player we'd have all driven to Sunderland at the start of last season.
