Keep your legs fresh for the race. I wouldnt do more than 9 or 10 miles the week before. On race day make your first mile the slowest,can be tempting to go too fast. If you use them maybe have a gel 5 miles into the race

Did the Seville Marathon last Sunday,very good race on a flat course in a fab city. Nice and cool to start with but got up to 20deg for last hour of the race Was hoping for under 3;35 and got 3:29.So delighted with that.

if your are in MCR area Try a shop like Run North west,and ask for gait analysis,depending on your weekly mileage you might need a couple of pairs ,one for easy runs and one for quicker sessions/races.

18 miler yesterday morning with my running club,last big run before Seville Mara in 3 weeks

did a really good half mara on Sunday 4 Villages at Helsby,would highly recommend escpecially for anyone doing Manchester MAra in 2024.It was a bit cold and blustery but well organised and a fast course ,even though there were a few lumps to run up.

Im doing dry January for the first time too,Been drinking far too much since lockdown even though I run 5 times a week i need to change my ways and just become an occasional drinker. Good luck everyone.
