We don't play with the pace that my local OAP Walking Football side has.

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Again if you want to just rely on bare statistics and league positions to take into account then fair enough. But on the more subjective point of just how entertaining our football was I still say those teams were all capable of playing with more flair and fluidity and excitement for their fans...

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

You're conflating different points I was making. I didn't say any team when playing us and inevitably parking the bus was playing expansive, incisive football, far from it. I said there were teams who when not playing us were capable of playing more fluid, expansive and incisive football than...

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I fully agree with that assessment... up until last season. Yes we won the league but I didn't see any particularly innovative, intelligent football or moments of brilliance from us, just a pedestrian possession based game that wore teams down.

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle, Villa, Brighton, Bournemouth. They might not have had consistency in terms of getting results over the course of the season but they were all capable of playing more fluid, incisive, energetic football than our pedestrian relentless passing game which achieved...

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Several teams were playing more attractive, energetic and expansive football than us last season, we just ground out results.

Premier League Games 21/22 December 2024

Well I saw it coming last season, there were numerous sides that played better, more attractive, more incisive football than us, we just ground out wins.

If the rot continues what happens ?

And yet plenty of us could see this coming for quite some time with the poor dealings in recent transfer windows and a complacent over reliance on a small and ageing squad. So why couldn't the club?

    24 | Joško Gvardiol - 2024/25

So if he's awful both positionally and one on one just what exactly are his defensive abilities and qualities??

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Exactly. I'm still waiting for the PL to confirm that every other PL club has had the same degree of scrutiny and investigation carried out into their finances that City have been subjected to.

    9 | Erling Haaland - 2024/25

Well they already defend deep in response to our usual possession based game anyway, so we've got nothing to lose in that respect.

    9 | Erling Haaland - 2024/25

I thought that's exactly what we were supposed to be doing with the acquisition of Doku and Savhino, adopt a more direct style of play with two pacey and tricky wingers to supply him. Instead we're still playing a very much possession based game but at a turgid pedestrian pace and with zero...

    Slavery and trafficking

Ah right, so you're not capable of providing a coherent and rational counterpoint. No worries, we don't all possess the ability to have a reasoned debate on the nuances of a particular issue. If there are any words your particularly struggling with in my "word salad" I'm more than happy to...

How long will the rebuild take?

You can't really blame our wingers for being unproductive, what's the point in having fast, tricky wingers whilst playing an increasingly pedestrian possession based style of football? It renders the strengths of those wingers completely ineffective.

    Khaldoon's End of Season Review | Pt 1 (p26) | Pt 2 (p40)

Perhaps you should concentrate a little harder then, I didn't think our actual performances last season made us particularly worthy title winners, we didn't really achieve it with any real style or panache or by playing exciting expansive football and it was clearly obvious then that a number of...

    Khaldoon's End of Season Review | Pt 1 (p26) | Pt 2 (p40)

But that month of bad results is due to at least 2 years of complacency and poor judgement in the transfer market, the consequences of which have actually been clear to see coming for a long time prior to our disastrous loss of form.

    A Bit of Positive Thinking...

All the talk at the start of the season was that we were set to play a more direct style of football with our new pacey and tricky wingers increasing the supply of balls to Haaland or cutting in and creating chances for themselves... well that certainly ain't happened

    Holding of Haaland

The interpretation on holding an opponent is ridiculously inconsistent in general, full on bear hugs, grapples and wrestling players to the ground often go completely unpunished yet other times the lightest of snatches at an opponents shirt sees fouls and free kicks awarded.

United (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Agreed, he got in the perfect position to at least attempt to block it or clear it but instead he did absolutely nothing and just watched it roll past him.
