Steph Houghton MBE To Retire At End Of 2023/24 Season

To my mind the best female footballer ever, not just for City but for England as well. A true City legend. We should grant her a statue. If we can do it for the men we should be able to do it for legendary women as well. Not just a great footballer but a real icon. She deserves a Damehood...

    Arsenal (H) - Sun 31st Mar, 16:30 | PL | Pre-Match Thread

I don’t know yet. I only know that Waistcoat Wally had better not come within 5 feet of me (152.4 cms for younger Blues) or else! Car is ok (fingers crossed) at the moment. Going to look at another one this weekend. :-)

    5 | John Stones - 2023/24

I’ll knock him down if John Stones is going to miss many games. I won’t touch him, the force of my righteous indignation will ensure that Waistcoat Willie won’t be happy for a while.

    5 | John Stones - 2023/24

Of course John Stones went out and got injured on purpose. Oh he didn't .... no of course he didn't but he also didn't know when he went on the pitch that he was going to get injured. It's all very well saying... "He's made of glass" "he was bound to get injured" etc. etc., but you could say...

    5 | John Stones - 2023/24

I’ve just read that JS was only on the pitch 10 minutes. Was he maybe being strategic/sensible? You know, keep in with Wally Waistcoat for the Euros but also keep himself in with Pep with a strategic ‘injury’? Too devious? ;-)

    5 | John Stones - 2023/24

I can’t be bothered looking him up but…who the heck is Branthwaite? EDIT: forget I asked that. I remember that horrible little Everton player. If I remember correctly he tried to injure John Stones when we played them the other week!!

    5 | John Stones - 2023/24

You are not supposed to make me laugh when I am reading in bed as I nearly choked then with laughter!! They wouldn’t have to pay me though! (Look I’m old not dead!! I can appreciate quality when I see it. He plays brilliant football.) *innocent grin*

Stupid little things that bug you

I read one a long time ago but I’m not in to horror stories. Detective stories and mysteries: David Baldacci. John Grisham, Ruth Rendell, Richard Osman and Richard Cole. Plus biographies and autobiographies. Danielle Steel, JK Rowling and lots whose names don’t immediately spring to mind...

Stupid little things that bug you

*lol* I have read 2 books since Sunday evening!! Nearly finished the 3rd one as well. But not just going up and downstairs obviously :-) I’m known as a bookworm in the family. I read at every opportunity.

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Oh that’s fine then. The FA or whoever will probably be gone by then and it won’t matter. *cheeky grin*

Stupid little things that bug you

My brain!! Well sometimes it doesn’t switch on properly! Like when I’m rinsing the pots (not posh enough for a dishwasher, that’s what hands are for) and I’m stretching toward the tap…. Move the silly swivelly tap toward you EB … it’s much easier. But I like it when I’m using the stupidly slow...

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Have we been given a date yet? I try to avoid the sensationalism by the media. (& the up and downism on here) ;-) So I’m in ignorance. :-)

    Protest?

One thing to remember is that some of those 'tourists' could be the sons or daughters of Blues who have emigrated or moved to other areas of the country. They might not be just random strangers but have been brought up as Blues well away from Manchester. JMHO

I try my very best in my 'romantic' world to never look at Old Trafford, apart from the cricket ground.

The British Monarchy | Princess of Wales diagnosed with cancer (p396)

Thank you @jimharri and @Jamshopbridge. My sister died of Cancer, it was a long time ago but it still lingers. Strangely enough it is the youngest sister and the youngest brother. There are (were) 10 of us ranging from 82 to 62 yrs of age and we are aware how lucky we are as a family not to...

It was and reminded me of their respect and empathy with us here in Manchester after the bombing.

The British Monarchy | Princess of Wales diagnosed with cancer (p396)

I wish her well and hope that she takes the time to care about herself as well as others. Having been told this week that my youngest brother, 20 yrs younger than me, has been diagnosed with Cancer I can understand them wanting to keep it private. Listening to my siblings and the different way...

Thank you @Tim of the Oak and @Invisible Man's Bandage. I’m afraid I lost my temper there a bit. My family are my life. With City a good second. :-)
