Why does everyone insist on calling this Twerp by his first name? It's almost as if the media have a love- in with him. I don't recall Les Ferdinand being referred to as Les by the press, or even his brother Anton! Even Bobby Moore didn't get that treatment.

Fair point and well put. However I fell out of love with football a long time ago when player's wages started to be stupid somewhere in the early 90's. I just can't understand why society accepts that the wage of a footballer should be higher than a surgeon's wage or a commercial aircraft...
