    Micah Richards the pundit

Surpassed himself yesterday with that nonsense about City being mentally in thrall to Real Madrid. So in thrall that we thrashed the living daylights out of them only 12 months ago……

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Good man, that makes me feel a little better!

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

This is where I always get extra twitchy. Who decides what the level of cogency is, cos I’ve never seen anything to dissuade me from the notion that the Tribunal will be able to make that ‘level’ be whatever they want it to be (within reason)?

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

What’s the distinction between the two?

    9 | Erling Haaland - 2023/24

That’s about it in a nutshell and if we’re gonna get the best out of him then we need to either completely change the way we play or hope that the opposition abandons the low block gambit….neither of which looks a realistic proposition. We have to factor in the injury issues and how they might...

New series of Blue Lights on i-player. Very good so far (2 episodes in)

    Media Discussion - 2023/24

In stark contrast to the ever tiresome Sweeney, does anyone know what’s happened to the boys at the Grauniad? Time was when either Barney or one of the Jonathans would have responded to a day like yesterday with a blizzard of “asterixes”, “lack of jeopardys” or “sportswashing projects”. Indeed...

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

If we can, cos I would expect the PL to be very ‘careful’ about the wording of their guilty verdict. Also, the outcry, as we are seen to try and further delay ‘justice’, would be phenomenal. We need an iron clad case to mitigate against any red shirted/PL orchestrated bullshit

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

It does indeed, but the PL doesn’t really care about nobbling Chelsea. Its brief is to totally fuck us whilst doling out cosmetic punishments to those who can’t ever hurt the red shirts

Luton Town PL (H) | Man of the Match

Doku fabulous. Gvardiol, Akanji and Kovacic merely very good……

What city/town do you hate the most?

I would contend that the 'City centre', which now more or less spans an area from Albert Dock/The Baltic Triangle to right up past the Katherine Street/Anglican Cathedral area, and then all the way West across from there past the Philharmonic and University and then down the hill through Lime...

The Album Review Club - Week #119 - (page 1405) - People On Sunday - Domenique Dumont

I’m the opposite. Most of my favourite singer songwriters (not just confined to the country/alt.country genre) are women. No idea why. Allison Moorer, Lucinda Williams, Nicole Atkins, Emmylou Harris, even back in the day, Maria McKee. I own more albums by that lot than just about any artist bar...

Real Madrid CL Q/F 1st leg (A) | Man of the Match

Grealish or Akanji for me, but it was a difficult one to score. Bernie and Rodders got a grip of the game 2nd half, but they were both sufficiently woeful 1st half to mitigate against any prospect of an MotM award. indeed, Rodri’s given the ball away more in the last 4 days than he has in the...

The Album Review Club - Week #119 - (page 1405) - People On Sunday - Domenique Dumont

Terrific. Delighted to have found a fellow Allison Moorer enthusiast. Some great tracks on Down to Believing, although my go-to's are her first two albums, Alabama Song and The Hardest Part. Can't believe the former of those two is 25 years old. Saw her live a few years ago at Cadogan Hall in...

Crystal Palace PL (A) | Man of the Match

Rico or Kev for me. Oscar Bobb was terrific for the first 25 mins, but drifted out of the picture a bit thereafter. Jack and Rodders decent too

Aston Villa PL (H) | Man of the Match

Foden, but Doku, Lewis, Rodri and Akanji were all excellent as well. Could and should have scored 8 or 9. Best we’ve played in a while. The team selection and shape had much to do with it. Vintage City….

‘Wicked Little Letters’ at the cinema last night. Very good. Timothy Spall and Olivia Coleman both in great form……

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

The only thing that scares me is the possibility that ‘the charges’ are just part of a wider pre-decided stitch up. I don’t think the PL has any real evidence
