    I couldn't have a relationship with a woman who.....

I couldn't have a meaningful relationship with any woman who..... - smoked - didn't like cats - was fat - supported United - couldn't cook - nagged - had a strident voice Am I hard to please or just choosy? Anyway, fortunately my Mrs doesn't come into any of those categories. (Well, she might...

Do you have any unusual/weird/useless skills?

I have. If you ask me any date in 1947, I can tell you instantly on what day of the week it fell. (The trouble is, not many people ask me that) I can also recite from memory all 18 verses of "Albert and the Lion", where a little lad gets devoured by a creature in Blackpool zoo.

    Anyone got any unusual/weird/pointless skills?

I have an unusual skill that is quite useless. If you give me any date in 1947 I can tell ypou instantly which day of the week it fell on. The trouble is, no one ever asks me a date in 1947. I can also recite from memoey all 18 verses of "Albert and the Lion". Should I get a life?

Do City get fairer treatment from CL refs than from PL refs?

Do they? I don't know, as I haven't seen all the CL games. But I'd like to know what Bluemooners think.

Why are we not scoring goals?

Over the last ten PL seasons, City have been top scorers for nine of those seasons. Now (although I admit there.s a long way to go) we are lying sixth in terms of goals scored. We used to be scoring goals for fun, but now it seems they are hard to come by. One goal in the last two away defeats...

    Slow process on Blue Moon

Whatever forum I go on, it takes ages to move from one thread or post to another. If I want to click on a thread, it tkes the best part of a miute to wait for it to come up, then when I want to go on to the next page, or the previous one, It takes ages again to move on, It is not my laptop, as...

A couple of puzzlers for the oldies (or anyone)

A couple of facts about City since World WarTwo are worthy of mote. Can anyone supply the answers? - City played the same opponents twice at Maine Rd in the same calendar year (two different seasons), the two games yielding an incredible 19 (nineteen) goals in total. Who were our opponents? -...

    Words / Expressions you hate

Some people come out with irritating words or phrases. I recently heard someone come out with the verb "to disincentivise". I think he meant "to discourage" or perhaps"dishearten" or even "put off".

Old musuc-hall acts - Wilson, Keppel and Betty

I love seeing clips of old music-hall acts - not that they are all necessarily brilliant, but there's something that I like about them. Nostalgia perhaps.... Ny favoutite acr is Wilson, Keppel and Betty, a trio who performed throughout the 1930s to the 1960s. They did basically the same axct...

    Replying to PMs

I've had a couple of PMs re my query about firesticks. I would like to acknowledge them or reply but it says "Plaese do not reply to this message -use Bluemoon Forum". How do I reply using the public forum? Just post an acknowledgment mentioning the posters by name? Seems a bit public for a...

They played for City and United

I was just idly thinking of those who played for us and the rags. The first most notable chap was of course the great Billy Meredith. But of those since WW2, I came up with: D Law B Kidd J Gidman A Kanchelskis S McIlroy P Schmeichel P Beardsley (just one League Cup match for Utd) P Barnes W(yn)...

Sticky keys - no double leters

I am having trouble typing a double letter - so if I want to type "football" in a post it comes out as "fotbal" - I therefore have to go back and insert the missing letters laboriously. How can I restore the ability to type double letters? Is it a Windows 10 problem or what? Thanks

    Video ads

Every time I open Bluemoon, whichever forum it is, a large video ad pops up on the right and blockks half of the posts, making them inreadable, until I press the X button to delete it, which is a nuisance when I chnge threads and it pops up again. I understand the need for ads down the side, but...

How do people in long queues go to the toilet?

All this about long queues, people queueing all night, or even for 36 hours or more in some cases, just to see the royals, puzzles me. How do they evacuate their bowels and bladder when they get a call of nature? I am intrigued (not that I intend ever queueing up that long myself)

    Paul Sorvino R.I.P.

Paul Sorvino from Goodfellas has died. What with Ray Liotta, James Caan and Tony Sirico dying as well recently, it's been a bad year for Mafiosi. Who next? Pacino? Duvall?

Rooney as TV pundit at Qatar?

I see one paper (was it the Sun?) has revealed that the BBC and ITV are involved in a "tug-of-war" over the services of our Wayne as a pundit offering his analysis of the upcoming World Cup tournament. I can't wait to hear his thoughtful, clearly articulated insight into the finer points of the...

Ben Stokes looks like Van Gogh

As the title says, I think Stokes could do a pretty good Vincent van Gogh impression. (Can't do pics, sorry)
