    Elliot Anderson

Him and Nico would be one hell of a double pivot in the future, but assuming Rodri gets over his fitness/injury issues, there’s not much room for him.

    Right back options

Absolute lack of world class right backs right now.

    The Squad planning thread

Loads on here said he only wanted PSG too. Can’t think of a time we took one of their top players (Donnarumma aside who had 1 year left and they were actively looking to sell) or they took one of ours. Just not happening sadly.

    Callum Doyle

So with Akanji going, we’ve got Stones, Ake, Gvardiol, Dias, Khusanov and RAN to play left back or centre back. Given their injury problems, seems a bit short-sighted letting him go, especially for less than £10mil.

Technical ability of the squad isn't good enough.

Would also help if we had wingers who could score or do something in the final third. You could excuse the drop in technical quality if they got goals, but it’s frustrating as hell watching them get into areas and then kill any chance we had.

Marc Guehi | Staying at Palace

Not from the Premier League we haven’t, not since Delph. If they’re a) English b) have significant PL experience c) in a position we need to strengthen then we should be all over them. After Chelsea got done for tapping up Olise but established there was a release clause, we should have been...

Marc Guehi | Staying at Palace

He is, but you don’t have to be a genius to make those kind of signings. Guehi £35mil, Olise £50mil release clause, James Maddison £40mil. All young, English, cheap and have good PL experience. These are players that could and should go for twice that amount. Instead, we’ve massively overpaid...

Marc Guehi | Staying at Palace

At that price it’s a no brainer too. Good young English player with his best years ahead of him. When Van Dijk leaves, he’ll be ready to replace him. Hate to say it but Liverpool’s making some really smart signings.

Brighton & Hove Albion (A) | Post Match Thread

Flick & Enrique are playing fast, quick and aggressive attacking football like we used to. I don’t think it’s tactical anymore, it’s psychological.

    Callum Doyle

Sorry, I meant he will definitely be playing in the PL someday, not that Wrexham would come up this season. I saw loads of tweets from Sunderland fans praising him at the end of the season and wishing they could keep him. If you mean Ben Doak, then yeah, I was surprised how much he went for...

Fingers crossed, he’s massively impressed everywhere he’s gone and will definitely be playing in the premier league.

Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

He’ll end up a good player, no doubt, but having the worst shot conversion rate in the top 5 leagues, and only having 1 season he scored more than 2 goals in, I’d take the £70mil and run. If Pep wants Rodrygo and he’s gettable for a similar price, go for it.

Gianluigi Donnarumma | Done deal according to Romano

He’s not. That’s much better. Still don’t think we need him but that’s more palatable.

Gianluigi Donnarumma | Done deal according to Romano

Stefan Borson reporting he wants €15mil net, or 400k a week. Fucking ridiculous, massively overrated player, stupid wages and not a massive improvement over what we have.
  15. S

Gianluigi Donnarumma | Done deal according to Romano

    That’s… terrifying.

Gianluigi Donnarumma | Done deal according to Romano

Also in a far less competitive league. Half the teams in Ligue 1 can barely keep afloat. I’m by no means saying he’s a bad keeper, but he’s not a big upgrade on Ederson, he’s far worse on the ball and it’s not fair on Trafford or Ortega. Plus we’ve got Stones, Akanji, Ake, Kovacic, Gundogan...

Gianluigi Donnarumma | Done deal according to Romano

Why does he have 4 clean sheets and a worse save percentage than Ederson then?
  18. S

Gianluigi Donnarumma | Done deal according to Romano

Absolutely not what we need. Not a Pep player, not a massive improvement to Ederson when it comes to saving, poor with his feet and would hinder Trafford’s development. Plus would cost a pretty penny. Plus if he’s been playing top flight since he was 16, how many years of his best do we have...

Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

He was absolutely brilliant at Girona, and while frustrating in front of goal, has bags of potential. I also don’t see the point when his favoured position is left wing, in selling him for Rodrygo, who wants to play left wing, and keep Doku in his third season, who… wants to play left wing.

    Xavi Simons

It’s definitely a weakness of his but if it improves, there’s a top top player there, who can give us another option. Cherki, Foden, Xavi Simons, Marmoush etc all seem to occupy similar positions and profiles, we need variety.
