I’d love to agree - and believe me despite all the success he’s still my footballing idol. Sadly his career petered out alarmingly which suggests something more than just being unlucky with the incompetence of teammates.
He’s still my all time hero and I’ll barely hear a word against him. However….
If he was around now then to get anywhere near this side he’d have to graft - and I’m not sure that’s in him. Actually I’m sure that it isn’t. Which is a shame because he’d have more ability than anyone.
I haven’t been to an away game (Wembley apart) since Pellegrini’s time but am going to this. When do tickets usually get sent out? It says mobile ticket so I’m presuming I’ll get an email with a link early next week?
It was possibly the goal where his first touch was so unbelievably poor that it fooled the keeper and bobbled past him into the corner.
Fowler did something similar years later at home to Lokeren.
Absolutely. Curle was ahead of his time and would be excellent in today’s game.
The problem when Curle came wasn’t Curle. It was that the idiot Reid thought Redmond to be the superior partner for him than Hendry. No offence to Steve Redmond who was perfectly decent but my word.
And that was...
The reason we stayed up was because of four players.
Dunne
Distin
Barton
Richards
None of whom he brought to the club.
Every single player he brought in was useless apart from a desperate free agent punt on Mpenza which could’ve gone either way.
Yes just had my email too. The slight worry being that it says we’ll be in the pink car park - I’ve checked and that’s on the rags side of the ground.
I thought they were going to separate us as much as possible?
He’s nowhere near as good as Jesus was when he arrived.
I’m not having a go at the lad, it’s early days and I hope he turns out to be a good signing but he looks lost out there.
I genuinely don’t want anything** Someone messed up in replying to me and obviously didn’t grasp how serious their wrong message was or sounded. The club has clarified now. We all make mistakes at work, it’s fine.
**(Although City if you’re listening I wouldn’t say no to Tunnel Club tickets…)
Ahem….I have to hold my hands up as it was me who asked the club the question in the first place. Had I known it was going to go off like it has (RIP my Twitter notifications) then I wouldn’t have bothered. Having said that I was a bit put out by their answer and I’m glad the club has now said...
People forget the cock up by Margetson for QPR’s first goal in that game. I maintain it was even worse than Pollock’s.
Friedel should’ve saved Tarnat’s free kick - brilliantly struck though it was.
