I was absolutely slated on this thread a few months back for calling MD "a poor mans Vincent Kompany" because of the way he reads the game, leads the line and runs out to make interceptions. Obviously no where near as good as Vinny, but glad Martin (eventually) proved me right

Was our best left back in 2011/12 and 12/13, but outshone by how good Kolarov was this season. Still a very good left back and it will count it his favour that he is technically "home grown"
