FFP facing legal challenge (updated pg 12)

Re: Wall St Journal Article on FFP From the UEFA website: "They include an obligation for clubs, over a period of time, to balance their books or break even. Under the concept, clubs cannot repeatedly spend more than their generated revenues, and clubs will be obliged to meet all their transfer...

FFP facing legal challenge (updated pg 12)

Re: Wall St Journal Article on FFP I'm going to try and defend FFP. Why was FFP introduced? FFP is intended to prevent clubs from running major deficits year over year. We've seen this in club after club, rich owners pick a club, run huge deficits, and the team screws up and doesn't do what...

Russia v Brazil on ITV 4 now.

This team resembles nothing like the Brazil teams of the last 40 years. Sad, really. Pitch invader, that was fun.

Is the Olympic Stadium saga over?

Good for them on this one. They're in talks to get Bony as well, so a lot of reason for them to be optimistic. The stadium itself will be fine, I think they said the retractable seating will put the fans within yards of the pitch. I also think it's more attractive for prospective players...

    Abramovich arrested?

There must be some truth to the story, this doesn't just appear out of nowhere. Might have just been questioning related to the death of that Russian guy. Although he probably should be arrested based on all the stories I've heard of him. He's a gangster.

FOR or AGAINST Rangers/Celtic joining the PL?

Only if all the Scottish clubs were absorbed. I'd rather see some sort of cooperative venture, maybe a tournament of some sort.

Russia v Brazil on ITV 4 now.

Davd Luiz is shit. Dante should have his spot.

    Fabregas

Makes more sense to me that he would go back to Arsenal, considering they have the money and it would go over well with the fans.

    Cavani & Falcao

All the players you named would be decent players, but we need world-class players if we are going to be a world-class team. Rather than spending 10 millions on 4 different players, better to get 1 for 40. Put another way, it would have been better if we spent 30 million on Javi Martinez rather...

    Cavani & Falcao

Totally agree with this. Cavani is great because he is flexible, he can play all over the pitch. He will probably not score as many goals as Falcao, but he will do a lot of other things that will make us a better team overall, in my opinion. We need someone like Cavani who can play the flanks...

    Cavani & Falcao

<a class="postlink" href="http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1386427/cavani-ucl-action-key-suarez?cc=5901" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/13864 ... ez?cc=5901</a> Cavani says of Suarez: "He even encourages me to play in England." Pretty sure we...

if you could sign 1 winger in the summer

Honestly, I'd take Nani in a heartbeat. I'm a huge fan of his, all the more since most United fans seem to dislike him. Hulk is another option I don't hear very often. I don't know if Neymar classifies as a winger but if he does, I would like him. so, just 1? Nani.

    Julian Draxler

Not sure but I'd guess at least 20, possibly more. He really does look to be on track to being one of Germany's best players.

we should call in at villa

Benteke would be a nice replacement if for Dzeko if he's shipped out. He has been really consistent this year.
  15. E

    Isco

There's also that one guy, Yaya Toure, he tends to do a thing or two. I think Isco would be pretty solid for us, and I don't see him going to Chelsea because they already have 3 players quite similar to him (Hazard, Mata, Oscar), so it's a bit redundant. They will probably get Falcao.
  16. E

    Suarez (merged)

Meaning that they will be trying to compete for a CL spot next year. Doesn't do much for them to sell their best player to us, at all. It'd be like us selling Aguero to United. Bad business. This is all moot because there's not a chance in hell Suarez is going to play for us. If he leaves it...

Is the Olympic Stadium saga over?

This is the sentiment of most West Ham fans, from what I've seen. This will give West Ham some optimism about the direction the club is moving in. I don't quite understand what Leyton Orient is on about. The idea that this stadium will somehow steal fans away is absurd. That rule makes...

    Losses now at £50m?

What's the latest on the Etihad deal? Couldn't that be an unexpected surprise that might cause us to run afoul of FFP? It's what, 40 million a year?
  19. E

    Cavani & Falcao

Even if we pay 50 million for Cavani, your math is wrong. Falcao would go for at least around 40, and Isco probably for at least 20. And plus you get two huge wage bills instead of one.

    Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Oh boy, where to begin. The idea that Serie A is a "weak" league is absurd. Yeah, it might not be as strong as the top 3, but it still has a lot of really good teams. Look at how Lazio is running riot in the Europa League. Milan had a 2 goal lead over Barca. Juventus is in the final 8 and have...
