    Watford (H) Pre-Match Thread

Pep seems to have identified the 'guilty parties' for Saturday's result - Stones, Fernando and Iheanacho. And he's running with it. Iheanacho especially should seem hard done wih this, whereas I guess you can argue Stones and Fernando as they had terrible games.

The defensive line up looks like an invitation for someone to follow in Vardy's footsteps and end his scoring duck. Ighalo would be the man this time around (no goal in eight games).

    Kelechi Iheanacho - 2016/17 Performances

Kelechi scapegoated for Pep's terrible tactics. He needs to move, Pep will only destroy his career.

Not only that. The ref let them get away with elbow punches and throwdowns without even a whistle.

    Kelechi Iheanacho - 2016/17 Performances

This. I hope he gets to play Watford. He needs a worldie game to force him into the team. And he can do that if only he gets the service. Also people seem to forget that the guy has had three starts, was great in two of them, good against Celtic and mediocre in two other games. And from...

Fun fact: If Isaac Success plays for Watford than Iheanacho will play his first game ever against a former teammate from his U17 World Cup gold team. (BTW Success was the actual star of that team, before he got injured in the second game).

Are you saying Iheanacho does not get in the right places and does not know where the net is?

Wow. Pretty shocked how people have benched Iheanacho after one game. He scored a worldie in the prior game and has a GPG rate that anyone would kill for. One game where he didn't really do anything wrong and suddenly... Nolito is better.

    Fernando - 2016/17 performances

Man City needs to take Wilfried Ndidi straight out from Leicester's nose!

    John Stones - 2016/17 performances

Sure, Matip was the best deal out there. Nkoulou maybe as well (joined Lyon). But Bailly has been doing way better than Stones.

    Kelechi Iheanacho - 2016/17 Performances

He could have made his offside run a bit better and then should have finished it. But other than that - did he really do anything wrong? It's not like he can pass the ball to himself. Should he have dropped deep to get the ball? Maybe, but what was Pep's tactic? Maybe he told him to stay up top...

    Kelechi Iheanacho - 2016/17 Performances

Some of those fouls on Iheanacho were just so blatant and shockingly Iheanacho did not draw a single foul, but got hit in the face twice if I remember right. I was thinking maybe Pep decided to sub in Toure to give them some bigger than them to play with.

Win percentage with 3 at the back

It seems very similar with what Mourinho did at Chelsea - over and over the same bad lineup, bad selection and magically hoping that this next game it'll magically be better. Hope Pep isn't that stubborn though.

    Kelechi Iheanacho - 2016/17 Performances

Sure, but part of the problem is he isn't getting game time when he could and then becomes our only option when Aguero is suddenly out. Iheanacho needs to be getting 20-30 minutes runs every 2-3 games at least, starting the odd game... From 29th October to 13 December Iheanacho played a total...

Leicester City v City post match.

It was sort of three at the back in some weird 3-4-3. Zabaleta as a wingback / right midfielder, Gundogan as a wingback / left midfielder and de Bruyne or Silva as a winger (not sure, it was so fluid) with Navas opposite on the right wing. Back three was Sagna, Stones, Kolarov. Actually the set...

    Kelechi Iheanacho - 2016/17 Performances

For what its worth before the consolation goals at the end the two best shots at a goal came from an Iheanacho pass and a penalty shout on a foul on Iheanacho. Then there was also the minimal offside (albeit Kelechi failed to convert that one).

    Kelechi Iheanacho - 2016/17 Performances

Well... Iheanacho should be getting more minutes in lesser games. Playing Aguero and not even subbing Iheanacho in won't help in his development. Note that Iheanacho didn't get a single minute of playing time for like a month and now he's the only go to striker but rusty from barely playing...
