    9 | Erling Haaland - 2024/25

I was at the game today, watching Liverpool now. Salah, Gakpo and Dias up front reminds me of how used to play. All speedy, skillful with lots of movement. Foden, Savinho even McAtee could play that way . Haaland definitely not.

Spot on Time for a change. Stick Foden up front. Get back to total football like the old days.

    Julian Alvarez

    9 | Erling Haaland - 2024/25

I totally agree. Foden, KDB, Godogan , Silva have all scored regularly in the past. Savinho and Doku have potential. With the current system none of them are getting even a sniff of a chance.

    9 | Erling Haaland - 2024/25

For whatever reason, Haaland can’t make any impact or contribution. We can’t change our style so time to go back to playing with 11 men. Drop Haaland try Foden as false 9

    9 | Erling Haaland - 2024/25

Time to try something different up front. Play Kovacic holding mid and 5 from Foden, Grealish, Savinho, Doku, Gundogan, Silva, KDB.

    9 | Erling Haaland - 2024/25

Totally agree. More movement out wide and dropping deep drags defenders away from the box leaving space for others. As we saw v forest, goals for KDB, Doku and Silva.

Juventus (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

It’s galling to read about Griezmann and others raving about how outstanding a footballer Alvarez is. He always felt the perfect fit for us. Slagged off by many just because he didn’t score 40 goals.

Yes, ridiculous that we let them go and Alvarez. Peps always complaining about too many games and exhausted players, yet insists on a small squad. Over simplifying it, you almost need a midweek team and weekend team.

    26 | Savinho - 2024/25

I think both of them show potential. Haaland just needs to be more mobile to create spaces for both of them to move into. Jackson and Solanke were a good example on Sunday. Watching Chelsea was like watching us 4 years ago.

For a team that plays possession football Haalands contribution in open play is just not good enough. He seemed to be more involved midweek. Reverted to type today. No wonder everyone is knackered it’s s like we’re playing with 10 men.

Nottingham Forest (H) | Post Match Thread

A big difference I noticed last night was that Haaland was putting himself about a bit. Dragging defenders with him leaving gaps and openings for the others. KDB, Silva, Gundogan and even Grealish all looked more of a threat. I can imagine why he might not like it though. He won’t score as many...

    9 | Erling Haaland - 2024/25

Just because HE scores a lot of goals, it doesn’t make us a great team. Think Kane and Shearer, not many winners medals there. The team scored more goals in the seasons before he arrived. We used to have so much more movement and more goals from our front 6. Current Liverpool, Arse, Chelsea and...

Surely not. He deserves a chance to sort it out.

How ineffective in a game does he have to be before he gets subbed.

Spurs (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

I agree, but that was then. I’m talking about now. Teams have worked out how to play him. stop him and we have little else.

Spurs (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Things started to change with the arrival of Haaland. Pre EH we had a free scoring front 6. Now we rely almost totally on one man, with the other 5 trying to lay it on a plate for him. Too predictable and too painful to watch.
