Would you consider McDonalds to be

People love to slate McDonalds on here but they are successful for a reason. Couldn’t care less if people think they are a restaurant are not. I do know they are too bloody convenient. We live in a small village but our nearest takeaway is a McDonalds! Not in the village but a very short...

Rock Evolution – The History of Rock ’n’ Roll - Pop pre-1960 (pg 38)

Yup. That is a truly wonderful song though. Been listening to a lot of early Rod and Early Faces recently. The Faces at the BBC box set is fantastic. A band I never saw live and one of my great musical regrets that I didn’t. Their time is yet to come on this thread though.

The Album Review Club - Week #146 - (page 1935) - Ocean Rain - Echo and the Bunnymen

It's really not. Liam's phrasing at times is Lennonesque but he sings in a Manc accent so they sound very different.

The Album Review Club - Week #146 - (page 1935) - Ocean Rain - Echo and the Bunnymen

So onto the Charlatans and I must confess that I've never listened to them before, aside no doubt from hearing the odd thing on the radio; not sure why I never bothered with Northwich's finest but next time I'm driving that Cheshire oasis, I'll be playing this album and a singles compilation...

The Beatles influence on Oasis is obvious but Oasis do not sound like the Beatles.
