Anyone successfully tried ticket transfer for Newcastle yet? Transfer box still greyed out on my account.

    82 | Rico Lewis - 2023/24

Nice to see him successfully using Pep's 'receive the ball on the half turn' technique. Not quite at the Silva/Foden standard yet but he'll get there.

Me too re Bobby Johnstone not Johnson. I'm so old that I have to reveal that Mrs. Heather Johnstone was my babysitter! The Johnstones became family friends with my parents. Bobby was a skilled painter and decorator and worked on our house in the summer. Love Bernardo to bits but guessing he's...

It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

It’s a tough old world out there! Cole has lots of skills but in the cold light of day they are broadly the same skills as Foden, Grealish and Bernardo. Doku offers something different that gives the squad an extra dimension. Good luck to the lad. Just hope he doesn’t become a bit player at...

    Matheus Nunes

If this doesn't happen, here's a thought about Phillips. I guess Pep has decided he can't play the Rodri role ( I agree) as single holding midfielder. However now we've got Kovacic, can he play along side him in the same way as he has done with with Rice for England, the 2 +2 box midfield might...

Lucas Paqueta investigated by FA for alleged betting breaches

Good points guys! I like Palmer and hope its a loan or buy back for him. Doku offers something different - raw pace and right footed. We haven't had that for some time and its a perfect (and different) option for crosses to Haaland. Much as others might like it, it doesn't make sense to offer...

Lucas Paqueta investigated by FA for alleged betting breaches

I could easily be wrong but I am starting to wonder if the comments about matches lasting 100 mins or more is causing Pep and co. to think about having a bigger squad than previously to take account of potential increase in injuries and the need to be more creative in the use of subs. (eg less...

    Arsenal (A) | Community Shield | Post-match Thread

I was thinking that. Haaland, Mahrez and Gundo probably would have been our first 3 takers with KDB, Rodri, Alvarez, Bernardo in the next group as needed. But in the end it's water under the bridge. I expect the "boost" given to Arsenal by the "victory" to be as good as the one Liverpool got...

    Gabriel Jesus joins Arsenal

Jesus was a nice lad and a good footballer. Quite shy and lacked the confidence needed to be a season long, consistent player in a top team. Pep, I'm sure, would have worked hard to build his confidence but, had he stayed, he would have been 3rd choice behind Haaland and Alvarez who are both the...

    Mateo Kovacic

I think this set up is also aimed at putting less demands on KDB giving him and/or Phil more scope to room as a '10' with fewer defensive responsibilities.

Season ticket transfer for 1 match

I want to transfer my Over 65 ticket to my daughter (age 41) for the RM game. Currently I'm getting, "this can't be done because she's not over 65". I did this for a PL game earlier in the season and it allowed me to pay a supplement to get her in as an adult. Anyone got any advice?

    Fulham (A) | PL | Post-Match Thread

Shutting it down with over 20 mins to go was brave but masterful from Pep. It paid off. Everyone is right about Rodders and Gundo being tired. Even Reuben and Akanji looked a bit brain faded towards the end. Collective team spirit kept us going. Onwards and upwards!

    David Shawcross RIP

Interesting that recently there has been stuff in the press about the revival of the 'wing half' position prompted correctly re John Stones for us and in dipper land fantasy world re TAA. Shawcross was a perfect example of a wing half, following Ken Barnes. Doyle and Oakes were too.

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Apologies if this has been said earlier in the thread. Worth keeping in mind that Professional Football is about to have imposed on it an Independent Regulator. So the PL has rushed out its 'findings' about City in a desperate attempt to show 'toughness' before it happens - hence the errors...

    Spurs (A) | PL | Post-Match Thread

Rico is going to be a fabulous player but throwing him into that complicated role against a top 6 team playing counter attack and on his unfamiliar left side was a step too far yesterday. Played correctly that role benefits the team, played incorrectly it unbalances the team. Added to that...

    7 | Joao Cancelo - 2022/23 Performances

Cancelo, as others have pointed out, has a history of not surviving long at clubs when he feels things are not going his way. He had a poor World Cup (another fall out?). The burglary at his home may well have been a factor too. We all know that Pep will not tolerate players who kick against the...

    7 | Joao Cancelo - 2022/23 Performances

I think we may need to remember the burglary at his home. That must have affected the family and could well be influencing his thinking. In terms of the squad, we seem increasingly playing with effectively only 3 at the back. Maybe Pep's gone off fullbacks!

    Pep’s Spurs (H) Post-Match Interview

Pep is a master at pulling psychological strings with everyone, players, pundits, refs, fans, media etc. He knows exactly what he is doing. He gets our history, knows there's an ironic, sometimes fatalistic side to us - who else has a song like "We never win at home etc?, and periodically has to...
