Have mine at 0620 on Thursday, coming back Sunday. Government site for 'green's countries is 3 days before you fly to UK, not 72 hours. So a test on Thurs covers you until midnight on Sunday evening. It's only city that quoted the 72 hours.

The official government rules are 3 days, not strictly 72 hours. They even state if you take a test on a Tuesday you can land friday. So Thurs-Sun is good.

This covid passport doesn't make a difference unless you are going on a longer trip. You need a negative covid test (3 days) to get back on the flight to UK, and thus the outbound is required anyway, to be used as the inbound! Unless you have time to get a covid test in Portugal.
