Hooliganism and Violence Maine Road 80's/early 90's

Yeah mate, Yates seems to ring a bell. Think he lived Didsbury way at the time. Nice bloke. Gave me a lift home a couple of times, after long distance midweek games, when all the buses had finished by the time we got back. Still see most of the guys who worked on the special from time to...

    Referees' Performances | 2025/26

To be fair that aggressive walking story is almost certainly bullshit started by Joe Royle. Long time ago now but I’m pretty sure that the referee’s story was that Royle asked him why he’d sent him off and he said something along the lines of… He walked over to me aggressively, whilst blasting...

Hooliganism and Violence Maine Road 80's/early 90's

The bloke who ran the specials, Howard something, used to always say that he could predict our away following almost exactly by seeing how many were on the special and multiplying it by 10.

    Rodri risk or the title?

What can he do though mate? Rest all your best players every other week. Win fuck all but have the fittest squad in the country? It took him a few years but I think he eventually realised that the League Cup was a competition to far and has sacrificed serious attempts to win that these last...

Hooliganism and Violence Maine Road 80's/early 90's

We played them away in the cup two years running. Lost in ‘77, won in ‘78 when they kept invading the pitch and McQueen punched Harvey. Fair to say that over the two days, that was just about as lively as it got at football, in my own personal experiences.

Not sure about that mate. I'd say we've taken more than that, pretty much every time in the Premier League era and plenty more in recent cup games. From memory in '77 it was just the corner pen. Maybe 3/4 full until the guests arrived and two smallish blocks of seats next to it.

All steaming drunk and shagging all the local bikes. What the fuck else can there be to the story?

Season Tickets - 2025/26 | Changes to ticket transfer this season (p101)

I'm not really bothered but an odd thing happened today. I phoned up and swapped an extra ticket I bought a few weeks ago for Brighton. As a ticket appeared on my row, that wasn't there when I bought it. Must be a season ticket put on the exchange. Everything went amazingly smoothly on the...

Hooliganism and Violence Maine Road 80's/early 90's

I've lost track of what game different people are talking about. But if it's the 5-0 game ( Beardlsey hat-trick ) that people are claiming 5K, they're well off, as you say. Two half full small pens right behind the net. I don't like putting numbers on these things. Especially when they're from...

    PL Winter Fixtures

And although I doubt there was much sympathy on here, Liverpool ended up having a match scheduled during their week off in one of those years. With more European games than ever before, The League Cup, a 20 team league and constantly expanding international tournaments, there's zero chance it's...

Hooliganism and Violence Maine Road 80's/early 90's

These tales often tend to get rolled into a mix match of incidents from different games, told as if they all happened on the same day. The infiltrating the City end bit probably comes from the FA Cup game in '77.

    Rodri risk or the title?

There's literally no way of getting full match fitness, without playing matches. Of course, only an idiot is going to play him twice a week, every week, from here on in. But I think we all know that Guardiola isn't one of those. But playing him for 10 minutes here and there, isn't going to get...

    Referees' Performances | 2025/26

Sorry, if this has been addressed already but the thread has moved on 10 pages since my last visit and I can't be arsed checking it all. I'd certainly be interested in seeing that interview if you can remember where it's from? Without seeing it, my guess would be, that he meant the...

    2025/26 NFL

It's funny the difference in attitude between the NFL and football with teams resting players for games they're not arsed about winning but have huge consequences for other teams. I've never even heard anybody question it. Just imagine if a team over here had to win a game for the title and the...

    Junior Membership Offer

No, not sure how it works. If they send a separate email or it’s somewhere on the account. Not really bothered tbh. Only ticked it because the other option was more cups and bags, that I’ve got a houseful of already.

Ticket restrictions and resale warning for Galatasaray

If he’s had a continuous active membership since 2024 and purchased three home tickets in that time, you should be be able to buy two. If you’re one game short, maybe if you bought one for Brighton, it would open up eligibility? Only £18 for a junior.

Should have held on a day then. Bought some on 31/12.

    Traitors

6.9 million watch it live. With at least a couple more million to be added on for delayed views on iPlayer. Not ‘everyone’ obviously. But very healthy numbers for any programme these days.

    Traitors

She also said something along the lines of… You’re a really loud person normally, aren’t you?’ In front of a bunch of others. Not the best secret keeper. Also, the note written by the Secret Traitor with the three names on it definitely looked like a females handwriting. They also spelt one...
