The business of football is spectacle, action, suspense, event...and goals...with the most attractive and globally supported clubs elevating the game (at least in the eyes of the global marketing departments of tier one companies with multi-billion dollar marketing budgets).

In the short term, it is working, but the list of clubs for whom it is working isn’t expanding the pie and spreading those revenues, it is concentrating that wealth and further perverting the game. It is driving up transfer fees, driving up contract costs, and that is further restricting the number of teams who can afford the top players...and the circle tightens!

This is why a European Super League is becoming an ever more obvious solution, especially in those countries where the same 2 or 3 teams compete for everything, including the top talent!

Just as a team that comes on hard times faces a downward spiral, so too the teams who usually win their home markets receive more marketing dollars, more reward dollars, more global reach, which brings even more marketing dollars and they’re on an upward spiral.

This is City!
But, it took $1B in seed capital to break down the door into this elite group of clubs, BECAUSE IT’S THE ONLY WAY TO DO IT!

These are not new or original thoughts, just the obvious result of what we see before us. Yet, people are trying to ignore its unstoppable momentum, because football has “meaning” to us.

Sadly, the global world of multi-trillion dollar capitalism doesn’t care anout

~ Football is a tool to sell shit.
~ Football clubs will gladly accept the money given to them to help sell that shit.
~ Football players will gladly accept the money given to them to help sell that shit.
~ Football fans will gladly buy the shit their football clubs and players are selling.
~ The circle continues and the only one out of pocket is YOU, if you play the game!

THIS IS FOOTBALL 2020.

The game is merely a conduit for all of that money to flow from your pocket through all of those other pockets, to the millionaire players and billionaire owners.

Football has become the NFL on a global scale...just as the American owners saw that it would once they could work out global rights deals and vacuum up global marketing dollars.

CFG anyone???
