Who thinks we should put in a bid for Rooney this summer?
I was speaking to my dad and a mate the other day, and my dad came up with this idea.
A £60 million bid for Rooney. He is a brilliant player and has a brilliant footballing brain (You could play him at left back and he would do a job). He has a good attitude, and his ability is there to be seen this year.
A cheeky bid like this would be good in 2 ways: -
If we got him, we will have taken the best player of one of our major rivals, and this would make the rags furious, and cause more ruptions within the United camp. Plus we will have aquired one of the best players in the world, who is premiership proven.
If we didn't get him, think about all the headlines the media made over our bids for Kaka and John Terry. It well and truley upset the apple cart, and cause the clubs of these players look daft (Hopefully we would have learnt to keep our heads down and not get involved with the media, a la Kaka bid). The money would be too much for a club in that much debt to dismiss outright, and this would cause problems within the rag camp.
There maybe one down side. If they did turn us down outright, it may galvanise the rags, to a degree, and they could feel like they are the underdogs and the honest force in football.
