From the Daily mail. Apparently £1.1 million will be shared between the squad should we finish 4th and some players give their bonuses to their nominated charities (a nice thought)

Manchester City fat cat players will net £70k bonus EACH if they qualify for Champions League

Manchester City stars will earn bonuses of around £70,000-a-man if they win their two remaining Barclays Premier League matches and earn a place in next season’s Champions League.
The club’s bonus scheme entitles each player featuring in a game to a payment of between £1,600 and £2,000-per-point, depending on where City are in the table at the time of the match.
In addition, £1.1m will be shared among the squad if City finish in fourth place. This will be put in a pool and allocated at the players’ discretion.

In all likelihood, it will be divided depending on how many games players have played.

This means the club’s big-name regulars such as Carlos Tevez, Shay Given and Craig Bellamy can expect to pick up about £60,000-a-man from that lump sum, cash that will be added to win and appearance bonuses they will already have earned through the season.
Given, for example, earned in the region of £100,000 for helping City win 63 points in the league games he played in before injuring his shoulder at Arsenal 10 days ago. This is on top of the goalkeeper’s basic wages.

Some of City’s players are known to put their win bonuses straight in to the bank accounts of chosen charities.

One source close to the City squad said: ‘If you asked the players what their win bonuses are then they wouldn’t know.
'It’s not in their minds and certainly it doesn’t motivate them. They just want to get into the Champions League.’
Mancini also has a sizeable bonus written into his contract.

When I saw the title I thought the media were going to lash us again, strange that they actually included the charity bit!

Isn`t this "old hat" writing ??
I`m certain this appeared in the MEN some months ago ???

The cynic in me sees this as a smear piece. Employees have performance related pay elements to their contract. News at 10.

There's been a bonus in place all season to finish 4th?
They make it sound as if it's only just been introduced to give them an incentive in the last two games! lol

Didn't see it if they did pal.

Hardly surprising I suppose though.

£1.1 million compared to what they will earn from the Champions League is nothing. If it means they beat Spurs I'd be happy to see a zero on the end of it.
