3-4 years is a mid term investment in football I'd say.

With Kun and Edin as our main two forwards, Negredo will be perfect as third choice.

I can understand people wanting us to sign a Cavani, Falcao or Lewandowski, but we cannot be adding strikers who will put up a fuss if they don't play very week.

It's all about balance.

I think a strike force Kun, Dzeko, Negredo and Guidetti is very formidable, and it's a group of forwards Pelegrini should be able to manage well, unlike Mancini having 4 players who put up a fuss when they were not picked.

Give me a well balanced team over eleven galaticos any day.

We are making such a huge investment in the academy that a group of players purchased at their peak is good business. Firstly, they slot straight into the first team squad and, secondly, towards the end of their contracts, the guys in the EDS are ready to step in.

If we continuously fill the first team squad with young, top class players, the guys in the EDS will never be given the opportunity to make the step up.

Some people on here seem to think that so called "top players" should be knocking on our door begging to play for City. It doesn't work that way. We sign the best that are available and willing to play for us. We need more than one FA Cup and one Premiership title to entice players to the club. Get real!!!!

Yep, all the dickheads on here who were saying RVP was to old last!! clueless. You sign a 22 year old, he can still go for nothing when his contract is up, same as a 28 year old. If we have them till they are 32/33 then thats the next 4 years sorted. Just buy Cavani for fucks sake.

Negredo won't be a poor player, I'm certain of that. But he certainly isn't the type of signing we need in my opinion. We have 2 good strikers and hopefully Guidetti will prove to be a good back up, but we do still need to replace Tevez with quality. Can't believe we aren't in for Higuain
