“Follow you everywhere” chant

Now I know he’s a Rag but I’ve actually had some good chats with Pete Boyle on Twitter. However, I’ve not found any evidence of United fans being on this chant before City fans:

Edit: Reading his tweet again, I don’t think he’s actually saying that their lot started it off first but that was the inference I took from it.

I've been told it was a song for juan mata, but i've not seen videos of anyone singing it. Just lyrics on one of those 'football chant' sites, clearly never caught on if it was theirs

Yep. That may or may not be true but if it was, I’m struggling to see how any City fans would be clued up enough to nick it off a handful of United fans who never got it going at their games and never got it going enough to bang a single video of it online showing them singing it.

They think every song we sing is nicked off them.

Loads of them were howling about us nicking “You’ve seen the champions now fuck off home” from them.

As far as I can make out, they’ve been singing it for about a month and we’ve been singing it since 2011 (before anyone else)

A bit like our version of Depeche Mode ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’ for David Silva before it was a song for Luis Suarez (it was on An Idiot Abroad and City fans started singing it for David Silva right after that), our version of ‘Mario Balotelli’ to ‘Seven Nation Army’ before it was a chant for van Persie, our version of ‘Dirty Old Town’ for Kevin de Bruyne before it was a chant for van Dijk… and on and on and on…

If we just sing songs on the concourse or in pubs and not in the stands, these videos of concourse singing are just pinched by other sets of fans because we’ve not made them our own because we’ve not sung them in the stands.

This nearly became another one. We’ve been singing this for about six or seven years and it’s only just took off in the stands.

I’ll never like concourse singing as a thing, and this is one of the reasons why.

Even that didn't get much traction in SS3, about 4 guys in the stand had a go as we were trying to get out of the seats.

On a serious note, I found the Newcastle players and staff just standing in the corner clapping the fans a bit strange, like clones.

Wish the KDB one took off, but nobody seems to chant it apart from half a dozen pissed up blues on a train.
