1 minutes silence/applause for Alan Henning

Much sympathy to Alan's family and not in anyway minimising what a terrible thing his murder was, but we are not Liverpool. Let football be football. A lot of us go to the match to enjoy it.
I'm with you on this, plus with the sensitive situation over there at the moment its best to keep out of it as a club.
Same here. A minute's applause seems inappropriate to the way he died, anyway. Those in ISIS will probably think we're applauding in approval. I think a minute's silence for all those who have passed away, at the last home game of the year, with their pictures on screen is more suitable.

Not really. Applauding someone's death is a relatively new idea AFAIK. Applause usually means approval. We know why it's done (especially at football games because it's easier than a minute's silence), but do all other cultures see it the same way.
