After a very disappointing 2021/2 campaign he started poorly in 2022/3 .There was speculation in the media that he'd be gone at the end of the season. Half way through he got more games and began to contribute with some good performances. His character won over more people than his football to be honest.
Now in the coming season he needs to move on from team jester and add goals and fully utilise his obvious ability.

i think Foden is going to have to play right when kev is back. He can score and assist plenty when wide. Its a shame for his progression but we have no one of threat otherwise.

Key player vs Arsenal Rags Liverpool Spurs and Chelsea. Changed the FCB game when he dispossised Upa. Great performance vs Real. Most chances created in CL last season. Most dribbles completed in the entire City team.

But nope Grealish will never win haters. In their eye he is always the one replacing someone. Same unfairness to FFS because he replaced some fans favorite.

I don't know what the poor lad needs to fucking do, I feel like I've walked into an episode of The Twilight Zone on here the past few days. I'm expecting someone to cut away to Rod Serling explaining I'm in another dimension where Jack Grealish only just signed from Villa.

He changed the game at Chelsea away, gave TAA nightmares against Liverpool, scored at The Emirates and Old Trafford, made season defining tackles against Spurs and Liverpool that got bigger celebrations than some goals, ran riot against Real Madrid and Arsenal. I think he gave the ball away about twice all season. The lad was 100% instrumental in us winning a treble and our first CL which, I thought went without saying, is kind of a big deal.

I cant believe this needs explaining after last season.

The role of the wingers is to control the ball up the pitch and to create chances.

Goal scoring is way down, we rely on the 3 central attackers to get the goals.

And we have Haaland, Alvarez, Kdb, Foden, and likely McAtee to play in those central spots to score goals.

Its also just pre season and we started later than everyone else so maybe dont be so judgy so quickly of any of the players.

In this new system it's not "Grealish Haaland Bernardo" front three, but "KDB Haaland Foden".

That's our system, Foden just replaces Gundo.

Kovacic isn't "Gundo type" of a player, so I guess, whenever he plays as a LCM and not Rodri's position, we use Foden / Palmer as a wingers..
