Feel sorry for him. Played some lovely balls that didn’t come off and Doku comes on and gets the slice of luck not once or twice (Doku didn’t beat his man for what it’s worth so don’t bother going down that path). Also helps that Alvarez’s finishing is insane at the moment.

Doku was bought to play on the RW so tbh I’m not quite sure what Pep is playing at, but chipping away at Jack’s confidence won’t yield better results - he’s not that kind of personality. Was a bit perplexed as to why he didn’t put Doku on for Bernardo who was having his first game back - we could have seen one on either side.

Oh and whoever said he needs a rocket up his arse - he ran his arse off all night and also stopped Leipzig on the counter when they were well away. Blaming him for their goal is bloody lazy.

Maybe because Doku has been far better on the left than on the right so far? Grealish being a confidence player doesn’t mean his feelings should come ahead of the team either what a bizarre comment.

The best way for Jack to go about it is to simply embrace the competition. I hope it gives him the push to try and become more of a difference maker

Ah, a shiny new toy in Doku, and Grealish has to change his whole game all of a season.

Let's get one thing straight, Pep will play Grealish in every single big game, and Doku will likely come on and impact the game in a different way, after Grealish has spent 80 minutes pulling defenders all over the place.

Both can and will play their part this season, it doesn't have to be either or.
That analysis is a clear example of over exaggerating his contribution .

I understand Grealish has a superb attitude and amazing technic to hold onto the ball which can be vital in some games, but give me a wide player that takes on and commits' defenders anyday, and a winger that creates and scores goals.

Grealish is a top player but he could and should be much better, Doku could be the best thing that's ever happened to him, he has a genuine rival for the LW slot.

Grealish hater never goes away, they just waiting moment for Philips to goes either in january or next summer. Then Grealish can be the main whipping boy for our team again.

I hope Pep finds new position for him to keep him in first 11 because we need his touch. That Gundo role could work.
For now Doku is much more effective and efficient than him on the left.

Yeah yeah, we are all senseless haters who for some reason really want one of our players to fail. That is logical, sure.

In any other team, yes, in a Pep Guardiola team, no it isn't.

Perhaps Pep could clear up why Jack gets so much game time in a treble winning side, would certainly make a few people on here look silly.

What is this hate?

Same sh1t is said on the Phillips thread.

Do you seriously think any of us want a player in a sky blue shirt to fail or underperform?

My first City match was in 1976 and the intervening 47 years have have routinely been punctuated by tedious, angry, selfish cunts at games, who care nothing about how much their invective is spoiling the enjoyment of the game for others; taking their frustration at their pitiful and empty lives out on certain players because it makes them feel slightly better about their miserable existence for a couple of hours.

It’s plainly out of sync with how a ‘supporter’ of a football club should conduct themselves.

This thread is an online extension of that. They cannot wait to come on here after a game and spill their bile.

And if any of those posters reading this means this makes me think I’m a better City fan than you, then you’d be absolutely fucking correct.

Needs to be tried as an 8. Becoming way to predictable on the left and to me it's looking like he's doubting himself again and reverting to the sideways or backward passes. There was a few times last night where he was one on one with a defender in a good position, we had them stretched and he completely killed the move by not driving with it and instead slowing down and laying it off to Gvardiol.

I'm one of his biggest fans but he needs to do more, he looked a lot more threatening when he was floating in the half spaces just before he came off.
