He compared the way they move and style of play. Whilst I don't agree to such an extent its only the Zidane was better numpties(no shit sherlock) that can claim the talking most bollocks prize.
It was a comparison, however tenuous, with arguably the greatest midfielder ever. It was always going to attract comment.

Whether he has justified it or not is irrelevant. That is the contract which was agreed 3 years ago and unfortunately we are stuck with it.
It's not Jack's fault, obviously. But it's very relevant. The club can't keep spending 300k a week on a £100 million asset if he isn't delivering.

He/she made it clear enough to me he wasn't saying Grealish was as good as Zidane. It was the way he moves around the pitch ie floating.

But you are right it was always going to attract comments from posters who didn't read the post properly or had other reasons.

As someone who said we should not buy Grealish, `because at £100 million he only improves City a little`. He does improve City though, and we should avoid another media hate job, that they used to destabilize Sterling. Grealish is not a winger, and i would prefer him in the middle before KDB, Foden, Gundogan and Nunes.

Go on then. Show me one from 2024 in a premier league game.

“But he wins free kicks”.

I don’t care he cost 100 million. We won a treble with him playing a key role so in a strange way he’s never a flop because of that spell of form.

But since then he’s done sweet fuck all and does not deserve a spot in our team even when fit.
Show you one example of him beating a man? Rewatch the Forest game and he went past loads in one game.

You can’t read as well as not make jokes.

Until yesterday, McAtee had never done anything to suggest he was better than anyone in our squad. He’s now beaten a man and passed the ball to start a move that ultimately ended in a goal.

Something that Grealish has done for years. When we won the CL, Grealish created more chances than any other player in the CL that season. Not for City. For any club.

Now McAtee has beaten a man, there’s huge clamour for him to start the next match. #Hyperbole.
Great stats will happen if you had a great season.
The season and a half that followed is the problem.
The not scoring a goal in 2024 is acceptable if you are Kyle Walker not an 100 million pound player.

be lucky to get £30m for him but I suspect he will thrive at another club. Good luck to him

If you want to run with the media bullshit that is fair enough, i will just judge him on his ability, or rather my view of his ability.

City win all the time (are used to ) whether he plays or not ! To demonstrate what you suggest we would need a greater propensity to win when he plays than he doesn't - 30 times plus to be statistically significant with minimal other changes - failing that it is goal and assists for an attacking player where he is bang or below average. Would still rather he played in the current set up though !
You don't need experiments to prove he increases the probability to win, you just need to look at the analytics:

When he's on the pitch, the team plays better. Creates more chances, allows less chances - through all of the mechanisms there are for the creation and prevention of chances. As I said, most misunderstood player in the game, and that is because of the general obsession with boxscore stats rather then deep analytics.

Yes but good luck in finding another club who are prepared to get anywhere near Jacks wages, plus City needing to recover a substantial amount of the fee

Even with his lack of production, he can actually contribute through the middle unlike Foden, Nunes and Gundogan who either ghost or continuously fuck up.

When you look at how he played against Forest, and the way we controlled that game against one of the best sides in the league, it's baffling to think Pep won't try him there again once fit - and yes, I know he played centrally against Juventus and was far less effective.

He gives us something next to Kovacic that Bernardo and Gundogan don't - strength and the ability to put a tackle in.

How weird.....I was never a big fan, but since seeing the Doku/Savinho circus, I see exactly what he offers the team, and why Pep played him so often........and everyone who raved about him, are now acting as his agent, trying to sell him!! ....unbelievable!
