Would you pay 10k if you had the money knocking about(if only), to do the same as this guy but for us?
Been having this argument at work and I would absolutely do it, work mate reckons its a waste of money.
BBC Sport said:A Macclesfield fan became the club's first 'Pay to Play' guest in the club's friendly against Stoke City on Saturday.
James Gorfin, 40, paid £10,000 to do what most football fans dream of - spending a week as a member of the team's squad, being put through sprint drills, shooting practice, short-sided matches, before making a substitute appearance against the Potters.
"I think everyone reckons they could do better when they're watching a game," he tells the Macclesfield Express. "You think you'd have loads of time on the ball but it's not as easy as that. It's pretty mental how quick the game is, and I did get smashed by one of the Stoke lads when I got one of my passes away."
In June, Macclesfield told BBC Radio Manchester they hoped to raise £20,000 by offering one person the chance to play for the club in a Conference Premier or cup fixture, before abandoning that idea soon after.
