I was at work,I bumped into an old mate and he told me,i always remember thinking " nowt will come of it whoever they are ",how wrong I was,thank god !
I missed it!
The only transfer window I've ever missed!
So I was in a caravan in north Wales, no sky and crappy Internet.
I had a bad migraine, so turned my phone on silent and went to sleep about 9.30 to 10 o'clock.
Woke up the following morning to about 10 missed calls and about 10 text messages from my brother asking where I am?
So I rang him, panicking something may be wrong.
So it went..
Brother "where have you been, everything ok?"
Me "yeah fine, had a bad migraine so went to sleep early"
Brother "so have you heard?"
Me "no, heard what?"
Brother "City are now the richest team in the world"
Me "bollocks!"
Brother "we are, we got bought out by some billionaire sheikh"
Me "bollocks!"
Brother "we've also bought Robinho"
Me "now I know you're talking shit"
Brother "go buy a paper and ring me back" hangs up.
I get in the car to go buy a paper, turn on the radio and that's all they are talking about.
Talking about how ambitious the owners are, how they've got very deep pockets and they've got a 10 year plan, talking about building the brand and how City will become one of the biggest teams in world football.
I sat there with a silly grin on my face, crossed with a look of shock and disbelief : )
And the rest as they say is history... Even though allegedly we don't have any : )
Gotta say looking back on what I heard that day on the radio, they've delivered on all counts!

On holiday in Cyprus, was out for breakfast then sat down and checked phone to about 30 texts, thought it was a family problem at first, glad to say it was good news...

Saw it on TV when I got home from work,first impression and I kid you not was. "fuck me we might be able to win a league cup in the next couple of years". I guess you could say I really didn't grasp the enormity of the whole deal for a few days
