So he got one right then out of about 25? My point was it’s not easy and yes Doku was poor today along with many others
Having rewatched the game, Doku was one of the top players yesterday.
He did slip a couple of times but he took on his man and created chances for the team.

His final ball is awful.

He's also in his early 20s and very far from the finished article.

And he's come back from injury. He was lighting the league up before that.
This is the theme that’s become the go-to criticism of Doku.
Go and rewatch the game and you’ll find that his decision making is very good.

I watched the game.

His final ball missed a lot of the time. He was great taking on the defender and linking up with the overlap runner when needed. Decision making and the execution of said decision are not the same thing.

He reminds me of a young Sterling right now. Next year he's going to eat teams alive. One year under Pep and Sterling became the best English player in football for 2 straight seasons.

How many killer balls did Foden deliver from the right side on Saturday?
How many killer balls has Grealish delivered since last season?
I think some fans should give Doku a break.
All these over the top criticism is not necessary.
I’m not basing my opinion on a single game. Everyone is entitled to a bad game, that’s why it would be ridiculous to heavily criticise Haaland for the missed chances, or Foden for a lack of chance creation. These guys have been doing the business, week in, week out and yesterday was just a bad day at the office for them. I said the exact same when others lambasted Eddie for his poor kick out against Copenhagen.

Doku was no worse than the other forwards yesterday but whereby the others had an off day, Dokus performance was just more of what we have come to expect from him. He delights and frustrates in equal measure. I like him but currently, he is largely ineffective. I don’t think this is over the top criticism.

next winger we sign hopefully will be a young Hazard, Saka, Salah prototype, the one that can end up as a scorer of 20-25 goals per PL season from the wing.
Grealish, Doku, Bernardo aint that type at all, Foden could rack up nice numbers with enough game time but he isnt a proper winger albeit he still our most likely wide player to score.

we need more goals from wings. most of our rivals will score a lot through wingers.

Problem is others are ineffective too. Grealish has been most of the season, Nunes is, Alavarez is becoming it and so it all rests on De Bruyne/Foden and Haaland and all were poor yesterday. Maybe it’s time for Bobb to get a game or two.

could be great but he’s delivering short, still young so I’m full of hope but he needs to improve his delivery, assists and goals

The thing that pisses me most about him is that he pulls out of challenges, we’ve conceded several now due to him being mentally weak in his approach to tackling

Pep's tactic is to control the ball in a certain area to attract the defense of the opposite team. Spaces will be created in other areas, and the most threatening player will be arranged in that space to complete the last attack. Doku's role is to control the ball and attract enough defensive players. If he can make a breakthrough, that's great, but if not, it doesn't matter, because his role is to attract defense, and the core of the attack is on the other side, that is, Foden. In the previous game, the team did not do well in transferring the ball to different areas. Maybe because there were not enough attacking players. Yes, the early loss made the team have to be conservative in the first half to avoid the score of 0-1 turning into 0-2.
