Long shot I know but wondered if anyone can help with tracing a ticket from our 1985 Promotion clinching fixture as would love to add one to memorabilia of the day which includes a squad signed match day programme and also Paul Simpson’s match shirt.

Will happily pay a fee, or Charity donation of choice.

*************** Update: Ticket now secured :-)

Most of the 60,000 in the ground would have paid cash on the turnstile. Actually remember getting my ticket well because my dad sorted it out for me on the morning of the match from Jack Trickett and he presented it to me about three hours before kick off - I was sat right next to the player’s tunnel, which was amazing.

It’ll be long gone though now, mate. Sorry!

Cheers mate and I know it's a long shot but hoping will be one out there

I paid on the gate. It was the first game I went to where we followed through and achieved something. Still my favourite game.

I was in the Maine Stand that day and had ticket. I doubt I would have slung it but after three house moves I don't have clue where it is. I will route through my memorabilia and if it turns up you are welcome to it, but I wouldn't bank on it.

Only 3 house moves in 40 years! Impressive!
Just counted mine and I’m on 16 moves and that doesn’t include the 18 months travelling around the US, Oz and NZ in 91 - 92

Think the Platt Lane was pay on the door back then mate.
Platt Lane was definitely pay at the gate. I was sat there having broke my ankle earlier that week ruling out being on the terraces. Got there pretty much when they opened the turnstiles to avoid the crowds getting too crazy as I looked for a decent seat.
