12pm is what time mass is at every sunday.

12am is when one day ends and the next starts

when you reach dinner time (midday , noon) it then becomes 12 o'clock PM ......

until the clock reaches midnight when the process starts again.

M stands for Meridian or midpoint. The Meridian of the day is 12 noon. Anything before this Ante Meridian or before the midpoint of the day. Anything after this is post meridian or after the midpoint.

So, midday is neither ante meridean or post meridian - it is the MERIDIAN!!
