Living in Northampton where rugby is a religion, I go often to watch the mighty Saints. I’ve only ever heard one racist remark and that was some dickhead about the French (we were playing a French team). A couple of supporters had a word and he shut up for the rest of the game. It’s all very polite and a real working class game in these parts.

Comments made by supporters of Brexit show that racism & xenophobia are rife in all social classes in the UK. It’s the elephant in the room that the media isn’t willing to call out.
