I watched (on TV), Zack play a full game for the first time in the recent USA v. Wales friendly. Zack didn't have much to do.

He made a good save.

He also made a dreadful pass to our LCB who was under pressure - nearly leading to an opposition goal.

His passing - other than the error-in-judgement pass mentioned above - and control of the ball with his feet seemed at least OK.

After watching this game I can see that Zack has potential - but rough spots may exist in his play - hard to tell though from just one game where he didn't have a lot to do.

Probably not much to say, but the fact Pep's playing him must mean he's been doing well in training. I think he'd have kept using Ederson if he wasn't satisfied with Steffen.

Performed well v. a weak CL side. One errant pass to the left that missed and went out-of-bounds - not a big deal.

The best no.2 we have had in a while.I'm very happy this lad is available should Eddie not be available or needs a rest.

He made a slight boo boo last night with his dodgy pass but that is more down to the pressure of Peps requirements and instruction i would suggest.Overall he looks very composed, commanding and very capable.

A great acquisition.

I'm amazed by that review of his game.

He's rubbish with the ball at feet. He's slow, hesitant, one footed, can only pass about 10 yards and that makes him easily pressed.

If you look at the goal kicks last night, the centre backs always have to be right next to the penalty box to receive the ball, which makes it so easy to press, and they end up getting pressed narrow until someone boots it away. He can't pass long if he's pressed like Ederson, he just lumps it. He can't chip it 20 yards to the full backs if the opposition forwards leave them to press him, he can't even have the centrebacks in the usual position high and wide because they don't trust him to get the ball to him.

Compared to a game with Ederson it's like going back to the days of seeing Caballero try to play the Pep way. There's no chance he ever threatens Ederson, let alone replaces him.

I did think he was excellent in the challenge on Martinelli.

Thought you might disagree.

He can't pass to save his life. We can't play the Eddy system with him in there. I'm sorry. He seems a very capable shot stopper. But he is not a passer.

Frankly he is probably worse than Joe. So it's a little baffling that we are try to force him to play like Eddy.

Pep is going to need to do a rethink on this one.

Football has gone

Hes hardly going to get better with the ball if he doesn't play, the sooner we stop comparing him to Ederson the better it will be better for the lad.
He is perfectly capable number 2, perhaps a few more cup games and we will be cashing him in for 20m like Arsenal got for Martinez.
