I reckon part of the thing with Nico is he seems to be gassed after 60 minutes (and was subbed numerous times last season) -which is the thing from moving from the Portuguese league to the EPL

Then why wouldn’t he play to get used to it? That makes no sense once again. You not gaining stamina by just training. It’s the same logic with getting used to the PL while sitting on the bench the whole time. It’s just an excuse. Cherki barely played 90 in Ligue 1 yet he will get game time.

Well I'm glad Sam Lee's cleared up something that wasn't from Bajkowski's comments yesterday. Regardless, as others have alluded to, there are few players we wouldn't listen to offers for and it's a farcical situation, even if it is coming from the agent.

Despite what you believe, it's been clear that Romano has had steers aside from just agents, hence why he has been good for City transfers since Viana has been involved. This doesn't change that.

The more ambitious our transfer policy is, the fewer players are absolutely guaranteed to stay.

It's not a failure, unless one doesn't get professional football at the highest level. The idea of planning the future to the extent that there isn't a bad season is mostly a fantasy.

Had we started earlier with the rebuilding, the 4 in a row might not have happened. Maybe other clubs couldn't win 4 in a row because they decided to refresh things earlier than necessary. Trade-offs.

You've misinterpreted what I've written and extrapolated. It's farcical that this story has come out about a player we bought 6 months ago, not that we, like any team, would listen to offers. I'd say there are only Haaland, Rodri and Foden we wouldn't accept chat about (and possibly the 3 bought in summer). I didn't mention failure or compare it to anyone.

I think the problem Lavinda is that no matter what Pep does, your opinion won't change. Which means it doesn't hold any value. You didn't like him before, you don't like him now, you won't like him in the future. You've convinced yourself on a false image of the guy and have now just decided to double down.

Oh and within the football industry, he's considered one of the best man managers of all time and even people like the Zinchenko you've mentioned worship the guy. Pep's successor(s) should not be expected to pick up his systems/ideas etc. That's the approach that fucked up the rags post-Ferguson. The longer Pep stays around, the greater the pressure / expectation on the next coach.

Pep completed his mission at City in 22/23. The responsibility for any 'problems' after then lies with the Board and their apparent lack of any succession plans.

Pep's apparent attitude towards Nico Gonzalez and Khusanov, and previously Jack Grealish and Kalvin Phillips, is indicative of a possible disconnect between the recruitment and coaching staff. That needs sorting out asap.

Didn't intend to come across as insulting. I was making the point that I don't agree with yours and I don't think they are the best direction for the club.

I agree that Pep favours others over Gonzalez (which I and many others think is his Achilles heel) but I think it would be wrong to consider getting rid when we have plenty who are at the end of the road, over the hill or simply not good enough.

I don't think we've seen anywhere near enough of Gonzalez playing in a functioning team to determine if he can cut it at City or not.

With Viana here now we will be doing more business with Mendes. So we will have to get used to it.

I was as frustrated as anyone about the world cup and Nico not playing as anyone, but I really don't think we can take anything about his future from it. Pep's lineups were all over the place because they were playing a pre-season weird tournament no one fully understands in a sauna.

Nico is being trained to play the hardest role in world football in order to be a deputy to the best footballer on the planet. It'll take him longer than it will a winger to get game time. It's as simple as that.
