Had a glance and couldn't see this being discussed, have we become that used to horrific incidents happening that it merely raises an eyebrow?

Round the corner from me and ive got a daughter who's 14, genuinely cant get my head round it, kids killing kids!!!

Just been reading about this, horrible news. Such a tragic waste of a young life. The rise in knife crime is scary.

Was at my sisters house in new moston yesterday when the chopper landed on Nuthurst Park. Had no idea why it was there until a bit later. Some bits coming out locally as to what happened and who the poor lad is who has died. Won’t put it on here.

What is confirmed though is 14 and 16 year old in custody on suspicion of murder. 37 year old woman and 14 year old girl on suspicion of assisting an offender. Make of that what you will.

This is so horrific. RIP to the poor lad. So sad for his poor family.
Hearing the reporter say how his poor Dad just kept saying “my boy, my boy, they killed my boy” just brought the tears to my eyes. Condolences to them.

What is happening to our society. It scares me for my great-grandchildren as well as all children. Just so so sad.

Absolutely awful. My thoughts are with his family and friends. In the 12 months to March 2024 there were 262 deaths from knife related incidents in England and Wales according to the Ben Kinsella Trust. Terrifying to see how many people, and young people in particular, are losing their lives like this.

It was always tough around Moston, New Moston, Blackley but last ten years or so its changed a hell of a lot.
As a native of New Moston it was a nice place to grow up. Moston had a worse rep as did Blackley, but in the 80s and 90s it was a good community where I was.

Missus lives in Blackley and we often go in The Fairway. It has now become a go-to for these 18/19 year olds who pull up on cars that can’t realistically afford, clad in expensive clothes and doing their trade that makes those things possible. They aren’t trouble if you stay clear. That stay clear of the regulars too.

The problem, and I’ve been told why this happened yesterday, is the ones who are in their mid-teens and feel the absolute need to carry, act up and be ‘the man’. It will come out soon why this happened and it just makes it even more unbearably sad for the victim and his family.

If the name of the culprit gets out locally, and his family for protecting him, well it’s going to be hell. They’re very local to the location of the incident too.

Best chinese chippy on the planet New Moston. I lived in the flats on Viccy avenue for 20 years.

Great people around there, mostly.

Knife crime among kids seems to have shot up in recent years.

General pigheadedness and selfishness among the adult population both seem to have increased in the last 5-10 years (just anecdotally, not sure how you could quantify it), which has been disheartening to experience. But the rise in actual full-on psychopathy amongst otherwise ordinary kids is honestly frightening.

The government reckons the number of kids carrying offensive weapons has gone up 20% since 2015. Thankfully things are climbing down in terms of possession with intent from about 2020, but the number of offences that seem to be occurring outside of gangs feels like it's hitting the headlines more and more.

More and more these days it seems to be school kids going online, getting wound up, and thinking that attacking someone from school based on nothing more than argument is the right way to go - and then they end up stabbing one of their classmates on the bus. And all over nothing.

GMP need to get a lid on this one pronto. There are residents speaking up right now as to who these feral twats are, and have been wreaking havoc around the area for too long, all known to the police with nothing ever done. This is the end result - a kid murdered for nothing.

The days of a fist fight straightener are over.

I've moved to Ashton and feral cunts carrying blades and wearing masks are all over the shop. It's an epidemic of young lads not giving a fuck anymore. Dealers driving round in top motors or lower level ones in crappier motors with zero come backs.

Some school kids gone psycho as posted above as well.

They feel untouchable.

Omelet and eggs spring to mind, nothing will be done until we have more police with more powers and the courts to dispense punishment.

Either that or it's stab away I am afraid.

In one. There’s no deterrent at all. I’m not into the whole listen to what people on Facebook say, but as I type this people are fucking livid about this and are posting their own experiences both of who these people are and how the police have done nothing to date. Real people, with real experiences.

They’ve had enough.

Why is this happening should be the question.
Why is it happening so much.
Is it a society issue?
It needs seriously addressing because this isn't right

Unfortunately we have the policing we deserve everytime a stop and search is conducted it's all over social media with cries of abuse of power, rasicm etc won't matter how many police are out there until they are allowed to do the job.
