15/16 financial results - £20.5m profit announced

I'm really not very interested in the detail of United's situation but I suspect the Glazers have held United back; maybe their milking of every possible sponsorship deal outweighs their other failures.

Well they given all the new managers combined around 500m so its there structure of the club thats fcuked them no long term game plan.

their wage bill was in 2015/16 £232m, compared to ours £198m and just look at their squad... woodward doing amazing job. and that wage bill is likely to go up further with Zlatan, Pogba and Mkhitaryan coming in..

And Fat Boy getting £300k a week to sit on his arse.

Thats a good point and probably the reason they haven't offloaded them whilst they're facing some serious problems with the rest of their businesses (although I haven't seen anything recenty if those problems in the states still exist - 12 months ago we were hearing their shopping mals were strugling)
Funnily enough I'm visiting my son in the USA and there's a Glazer-owned mall near where he lives. We passed it and he said it was closing down. It was quite a small one but didn't look very appealing. It was very much at the low end of the market.

I know that they were struggling a few years ago, with mortgage payments not covered by the rental income on many of the malls. I believe they refinanced the business and took on new loans just before the crash. It's possible that they used United shares as security for that so the golden scenario is that their business goes under and the banks take over the rags, while they walk away unaffected having sold enough of their shares to keep them comfortable.

Their woes started the day that Baconface fell out with his partners over a certain race horse.

How wonderful to hear this great news about their owners' failing business enterprises.

I've no love of the Glazers, but I've always thought that the real culprits at United were the previous owners who extracted a huge amount of cash from the business when they sold it.
