15/16 financial results - £20.5m profit announced

We told them so years ago but the assembled hacks, rags and bitters wouldn't have it. I'm loving the online comments from rags and others still insisting all our sponsorship money comes from 'family businesses'. What these dullards faile to understand is that UEFA's forensic accountants are all over City's accounts more than any other club under their jurisdiction yet have found nothing wrong.

Can't believe Mark Ogden wrote that.

I honestly think the significance of where City are now at as an organisation / business is lost on a lot of people. I think the talk of next phase should not be overlooked. The club's plans have been well executed to this point so we have good reason to hope that the much talked about - outside the club - domination of English football and accession to being the best club side in the world will eventuate in this next phase.

It has been in many ways but it was their insistence on controlling costs that was primarily to blame. They imposed a £90k per week wage ceiling which was the main reason they weren't signing top names and Baconface was complaining there was "no value in the market". Then late in 2010, Rooney put in his alleged transfer request, which I firmly believe was engineered by Gill & Ferguson, and doubled his wage package.

That (in theory) allowed them to finally compete in the market but the Glazers then tried to control that side of things by restricting how much they could spend. That lost them Baconface (and Gill) and all of a sudden they were tumbling out of the top four.

So now they're spending stupid money to try to get back in the CL and everything is being done for short term gain. Meanwhile clubs like us, Spurs and Liverpool are planning for the future and overtaking them.
