Having him in the CL squad is a smart move, it also sends a message that we're expecting to get to the later rounds. I don't think he'll be playing any time soon cos I don't think Pep will play him unless he's ready. Rodri will know when he's feeling 100% and even if he says he is 100% I think Pep will err on the side of caution.
It's not a move, he was registered already, there's absolutely no reason to remove him regardless of anything else. We quite literally did nothing.

Had walker not left and we needed the space to register Nico, i'm sure he would have been removed.

My error - substitute "Having him" for "Keeping him" - other than that as above .

Wasn't trying to suggest you made an error, just trying to point out that we've not actually done anything here and so I don't think we can say there's any message being sent or any plans for him to be involved it's just simply a case of there being absolutely no reason to remove him.

No worries, I suppose if we'd been allowed to make four or five changes then maybe my post might have made sense.

.
KDB was also rushed at the start of the 23/24 season then got injured in the first EPL game of the season.

Getting injured after coming back from injury and being rushed back are different things.

KDB had a problem that was bound to cause a lengthy absence at some point. He wanted to delay the treatment, as he felt OK, but that turned out to be a mistake.

We have top professionals at the club. They don't rush players like KDB back.

Lol yes - everything is perfect, no mistakes ever.

Fuckin’ phenomenal news. Hope it turns out to be true like TH’s similar Haaland tweet weeks before the announcement!
Yeh he was spot on with Haaland’s new contract so I reckon he’s got it right with Rodders too

I feel like he’ll be De Bruyne’s natural successor next season as an advanced midfielder; get more mobility in behind and ahead of him and allow him to influence the game without the burden of excessive defensive duties.

Will probably play in a Pivot with Gonzo. With one of Phil, Omar, Oscar or Echeveria st the top of the triangle.

Doubt it - don’t fix what isn’t broken, he’s literally the best DM in world football.

Never really understood the play Rodri further forwards shout.

Don't think he'll neccesarily play further forward in the literal sense, more that he'll have more license to go forward and impact the attack more frequently. He has shown he can do it better than most pure attacking midfielders and when there's somebody like nico next to him who has the defensive side of his game too, it gives that security. With two of them on the pitch We'll become more solid defensively and not really suffer offensively for it.

Appreciate we do have issues that extend beyond Rodri but our season was over the minute he went down.

The worst player this could’ve happened to for us

If anything, it’d be the other way around, with Nico moving forward if they both play.
