If anything, it’d be the other way around, with Nico moving forward if they both play.

No.. Nico is more likely to be trusted as the 6..

An ACL leads to all sorts of muscle injuries.. so even though he'll be back.. I wouldn't expect prime Rodri for at least another season so 2026-27 season at the earliest.. just like what happened with Gundo and Sane.

Also Gundo had to adapt and get bigger and use his body as a shield for the ball compared to before when he was a lot quicker and a dribbler.. so Rodri will have to adapt to his body's limitations.

What I don't want to see is what happened with Mendy where he lost all his pace and was never the same player again!

Appreciate we do have issues that extend beyond Rodri but our season was over the minute he went down.

The worst player this could’ve happened to for us
Might turn out to be a weird blessing of sorts. With or without Rodri, this season was a write off, so assuming he comes back with no lasting impact, getting the time off that he desperately needed might help us in the upcoming seasons.

If we were going to be without him for any season, it would be the season where we are a complete shambles. Summer recruitment, a new found realisation that the woefully small squad preference is no longer viable in this age, pep getting his head out of his arse and developing a system that best uses the players we have and a fresh Rodri could set us up for a very good season next year.

I really hope that’s the case but was just saying with hindsight that was when our aspirations for the big trophies this season ended.

He has often played further forward.

He’ll be fine. No-one at City is going to risk him early.

Gundo is not now, nor was he ever, a Rodri.

I wasn't comparing players to Rodri.. I was comparing ACL recoveries.

Basically you can't assume.. we'll get Ballon D'or Rodri back next season.

It's scary to think it was a career-ending injury for many players not so long ago. BOY, I wish we had the technology back when Lakey was hit with the nightmare, Lakey and Rodri in the same team wow
To be fair I think Lake would be a bit old now even if his knee was alright
