Felt a bit sorry for Rodri today as he was often the only player in central midfield. If you look at our heat maps, Gündy and Bernardo were extremely advanced both in and out of possession, we almost looked like a 2-3-5 with the ball.
That was particularly true at one Leicester counter in the first half. He was our entire midfield and the only player in the midfield. Not sure how we allow ourselves to get so stretched at such times.

3 starts, 3 wins, 3 clean sheets, GD 11:0.

We are a better team with Rodri.
Yeah was Dinho’s fault we conceded against Spurs and Rodders would have used his pace to fly back and stop Son. He was pretty poor today when called upon.

Big game passed him by once more and outshone by his counterpart Ndidi. Nowhere to be seen so often when he should have been mopping up after one of the defenders had cut out the direct counter. Thank God Maddison was dogshit, if Iheanacho had started in that role we could have been in trouble.

We watched a different game! He had the midfield on lock.

Think we would of done so much better in the CL final if he started. Mad how pep lost trust in him towards back end of last season.

Hi!

Welcome to Pep Guardiola's Manchester City team.

What did he have on lock? Leicester went from back to front via the channels as quickly as possible and largely avoided the area Rodri operates. Most of his defensive duties involved mopping up when the defence cut out the direct attack but was often too far away to do that.
