Good news. Foden must step up, and we should sign a creative player, because without them Haaland is ineffective and our most dangerous player would be Rodri (a DM!!)
 
Back within a month would be my guess. Can’t blame pep for playing him. How else is he going to get match fit?

Speedy recovery hopefully. Team is not the same without him.

Maybe it’s time pep trusted either Phil or Jack to deputise? Seems Bernie is preferred which is grand now with kova in with Rodri.
 
Not ideal to lose our main creative spark in the first game of the season. Hopefully not out for too long.

Bernardo or Foden will take Kevin's spot which means our cover in midfield and out wide is now just Phillips, McAtee and Palmer. It only took one injury to highlight just how short we are in the front six positions.
 
The mind is willing and able but sadly the body is broken.

Sad to see but is it a surprise?

Game management will be needed for the rest of his career with us, the rampaging KDB is no more sadly.

Vital that we bring in a top quality creative player in now so he can learn from the master.
 
Blessing in disguise imo. Don’t rush him back, let the other lads shine and bring him back when he’s had the rest he’s needed for several summers. We’re more than capable of doing well without him, but a fully rested and fit Kev coming back a few months into the season would be a huge bonus for us.

One always wants to see Kev in the lineup but looking at the early season fixture list we can probably afford to be without him for the next six weeks. In hindsight he probably should not have gone to Asia and only be starting light training now. Let's hope this injury does not have any long term implications.
 
I felt it at the time last week, it was too soon. Furious at the club for bringing him back so early
 
Four games, I think, until the international break, after which, and presuming he has recovered, he can be gradually eased back into the fold.
