People keep saying he is past it any time he has an off game, as if world class players never have sub-par performances.

He has shown over and over again that even when he isn’t playing to his absolute best that he can be a match decider.

Today I thought he was actually near his best, though, and showed how dominant he can be when his teammates are able to get on the same wavelength as him (they weren’t in the first half but rode it in the second half).

Great performance to take to Madrid.

He's still the king

There's no doubt he's not getting any younger but we should take into account he's coming off surgery and a very serious injury with 5 months out. That's not ideal for any player, never mind a 33 year old. Those injuries have taken a lot out of younger players than Kev before.

Being realistic, we might only get 5 or 6 games out of 10 where he's brilliant again, but when he is brilliant he's still the best in the world at what he does, so we should take it while we can get it. I won't be in denial thinking a player approaching their mid 30s is always going be as consistently brilliant as they once mightve been, but he's still incredible when he's on it.

When he is middling he is still better than 80% of the players in the league.

He is correct imo in that video, he has to adapt to Phil, not the other way around.

The best way like David did, was to simply play deeper.

Now, he isn't silky like David or Gundogan were, but I don't think that is also completely necessary, as he has a strong body and doesn't need to do any dribbling from deep, but he should start "orchestrating" the play from deeper, rather than play in the pockets, let Phil, Lewis, Bobb etc do that, then force them to run and play a long pass to them.

I know Pep much prefers KdB high up the pitch next to the striker, but he has to come around to Kevin playing deeper, it's the best way to extend his best final years.

Another dirty, horrible, smelly, Johnny Foreigner, with no obvious connection to the club or the area, who the club has gotten under the skin of. Add to the list that includes Zab, Vinny, Spanish Dave, Fern, the Goat, Dickov*, Horlock* etc etc

*neither were English, where the club is based, so they're (sort of) foreigners!

;-)

My GOAT.

is there anyone else in the this club in Man City history?

100+ goals
