1894 Group: We need a big atmosphere next week v Spurs

Ticket prices helped that day .........a lot...the whole ground was stood up nearly
A lot of Level 1 used to stand up for many big games.

The whole of East Stand Level 1 even stood up all second half when we staged a near remarkable come back against Sporting in the Europa Lg. And that was only seven years ago.

Couldn’t get that to happen now though.

If we want a good atmosphere the songs that pop off the most are:
- Bernardo song
- best team in the land and all the world
- never felt more like singing the blues
- sergio aguero city champion
- allez allez (anyone refusing to sing it is just stupid as they’re adding to the silent atmosphere we have)
- blue moon
- empty seats at home

Realistically our poor atmosphere is down to the disorganisation of our fans which is partly our fault and the clubs fault. The away fans need to be moved as they split the singing section in half, this causes chants to be out of time or either sides chanting different songs, which leads to chants just petering out. The most annoying factor though is that fans will chant one verse of a chant then just stop, if you want a good atmosphere, you need to chant multiple verses.
Another way the atmosphere can improve is by bringing a drum and creating chants around a drum beat e.g. we could sing the Paris SG chant but replace it with MCFC and the common German club chant “tral la la lala la e.g. Bayern München” but replace Bayern München with Manchester city.
I’ve posted on here before about implementing a drum which was rejected with the argument “who’s that bellend with the drum” I mean if people’s midsets are like that, it’s the reason our atmosphere is so bad.
You were doing so well until you mentioned bringing in a drum....

Every single good atmospgere we and anyone else has ever had without a drum proves we do not need a drum.

We just need to sing the right songs at the right times.

Drums are absolutely awful at football and should be banned IMO. I hate them!

Some really good points, but leave the drumming for the likes of Blackburn and Bolton.

Let's look at it this way

Most clubs have a core 2-3 songs and they sing them every game, most are classics and well worn and get a lot joining in

Last night spurs only really sang 2 songs over and over

We only need a few good strong city songs about city, and ones the fans will join in with.

All the multitude of other songs are more likely to get good airing at aways tbf when most people know them or are willing to join in

Get 2-3 songs at home constantly going that people like and will sing and we will have cracked it.

We are city, blue moon, invisible man something like that with the odd bernardo or vinny song thrown in

It also doesn't help that tickets for the game next week are between £50-£70 which will also affect the atmosphere.
