1894Group statement on the atmosphere in full here

I have the greatest admiration for anyone who actually puts some time and effort into improving things for our fans so well done to the 1894 Group. I just wish the club would engage with us in a meaningful way as we know the club and fanbase better than anyone else.

+1

Relocated tomorrow night.

I've seen the list of people relocating.

There's about 70 of us.

You'd think out of a crowd of thirty odd thousand, we could do better than that. Apathy?

That aside.

The only real answer to improving the atmosphere at the Etihad is giving blocks 115 and half of 114 over to fans who want to support the team continuously throughout the match after the away fans have been relocated.

It's all down to he club. If they want to improve the atmosphere from 2015-16 onwards they will have to work with the 1894 Group and the fans in general, and give us those blocks.

If the club, and more importantly those* Executives* who are running it, don't want the atmosphere to improve, they will just give those two blocks over to new City fans/tourists/day trippers who will sit there in silence and create a quiet buffer zone between the away fans and the SS.

Once again, and for the umpteenth time, over to you City.(Sheikh Mansour, Khaldoon Al Mubarak, Ferran Soriano, and other senior Executives at City)

I would say the real question is: How many of those people are aware of this? Where is the publicity from the club: https://twitter.com/MCFC ?

Also, you have to consider many like a particular type of seat. Two together, three together, an aisle seat, middle row, back row, front row (OK, not many want to be in the front row). A temporary relocation can be an inconvenience and take people out of their comfort zone of being with mates or in a particular style seat. If the club worked with people in securing these in a permanent section, more would be interested I think.

I stand corrected, but I think the club mentioned the relocation on the OS. That aside, people can visit the 1894 sites, and most relocation proposals are posted on here by Alberto. How many City fans post on and read BM?

I think you summed it up perfectly. *Inconvenience*. Most people can't be arsed. Call it inconvenience or whatever you want. At the end of the day it's only one match. There's absolutely no reason why people can't bite the bullet and simply move to the relocation block for one game.

And before I get my head bitten off, I also appreciate why people don't want to relocate.

For those that think that moving the away fans to level 3 will lead to a better atmosphere, why do you think that people that currently sit in east 3 in realative silence will suddenly stand and sing for 120 minutes just because they are being forced to watch the game from what they view as worse seats?

As to getting in the ground earlier? If I was to do that then I would need to nip to the bogs at half time or early in the second half for a smoke and risk getting kicked out and banned, much better for me if I leave it to the last minute to get in before the start

We tried operation one end against bayern Munich a couple of years ago. It didn't work at all. It was quieter than normal.

City fans just don't like to have a big sing along. It's all about standing their arms folded saying kolorov or yaya is shit.

that was one try. The end was full of tourists and families swell so was never gonna be a success. It needs to be over a sustain dperiod of time

Grab big clump of paper, drop on fans below, repeat for 5 minutes, fans below go back onto the concourse, atmosphere improved?

It needs 500 fans who want to sing throughout the match in block 115. If that sells out, then get another 250 fans in half of block 114. Can you imagine the impact of 750 fans singing on one side of the away fans, and blocks 111, 110, 109 singing on the others side of the away fans.

And I'd bet those new £299 season ticket City fans would sing in the new 3rd tier of the SS as well.

The answer is patently clear and obvious to anyone who looks to those teams that have what could be looked at enviably as a "Wall of Noise." That is, one end of the stadium dedicated to those fans that want to congregate to sing....standing preferred, flags allowed.

Simple. If City don't want to do that, then they will do whatever they will do. However, we will CONSISTENTLY be "out-louded" by teams that bring the full compliment of fans when those fans are predominantly singers. In addition to it sounding like we are being out sung, the prime location of away fans (from both a stadium location and "for the cameras" location) will make it look like the away fans are both rabid and in large numbers.

When it comes to teams on the continent, who realize it is their hard core home fans that make the noise and develop the teams fan signature, the admin folks at City have a lot to learn. Maybe 1894 can help them have some kind of awakening, but it appears they are more interested in incremental changes that will both prolong, and possibly stunt, such efforts.

My thanks to those people spending their own precious time trying to make the City fan experience better for all of us.

Well said, that man

Post of the night

and , IMHO , unless we sort the SS / Home end issue ( i.e. we are the only club in the Prem or , indeed in CL level football without a proper 'home end'

I am coming to the conclusion that the club do not seem to understand the importance of this.... they ignore this at their peril... Home End = powerful atmos ('South Stand has got to be it) powerful atmos = 12th man = 12th man should bolster Home advantage

Why, oh why, can the club not get their heads around this one ??

They seem to be able to launch the great big 'Etihad campus' covering a swathe of east manch and yet have not sorted a key issue , that is on the hearth side
